Queues not to be missed-even with Express!

We will be heading to the HRH this summer, and of course, are looking forward to our Express passes!! However, it seems that some of the attractions' waiting areas are so creative in their theming that it would be a shame to miss by going in the Express line (and believe me, I hate lines!!)

Haven't been to Universal in about 7 years, so the memories are not that fresh!!! Hoping some of you experts can help me out with some tips in this area.

And as a side note, can we go over to the other Universal resorts to "pool hop"?

I loved the queue for the Mummy and Men in Black (queue was better than the ride IMHO)

Mummy queue is a can't miss; according to reports the Forbidden Journey.

Yes you can resort pool hop - they actually encourage it.

One of Universal's biggest strengths is themeing, to the point that on a ride-by-ride comparison they are really blowing Disney out of the ballpark. As stated The Mummy and Men in Black are fantastic, even more so if you know anything about the films. The Simpsons took the old Back to the Future ride and made one of the best queues to be a part of just by catching all the great in-jokes in the posters and videos. The Spider-man "Daily Bugle" queue is a dream come true for comic book fans. I was never a big fan of the movie "E.T." but there is something about being inside that building, walking among the redwoods, queueing up for the bikes. For those with little kids, how can the themeing of Seuss Landing and Jurassic Park not be like their fantasies coming true?

I'm not here to say Disney has no themeing on their rides, as Expedition Everest and Toy Story Mania are quite impressive, but I think as a whole Disney is heading towards the "distracting guests" with their queues based on things like video games where Universal is trying to completely immerse their guests. The Harry Potter stuff looks like nothing I've ever seen before, just amazing.
