Hello Everyone! I hope Your day is going good.:goodvibes

I'm at the early stages of planning a trip in mid to late feb to early mar.

It seems like ALOT of reconstruction will be going on in DCA...and some things will be closed in Disneyland park.

What dates are You planning on going and why?

What rides attractions will be down during this time frame?

We will be taking my mother who is a Senior.. how much is the senior discount? Do we need anything to get this?

Is the triple AAA discout allowed in conjunction with the senior discount?

We will be booking 2 rooms is the Senior discount applicable to both rooms?

I'm going back and forth with staying at the Holiday Inn and the GC.
We stayed at the Holiday in last trip as the shuttle was necessary with my Mother. However since our trip is only 4 day and 3 nights... mabe it might be nice to treat my Mother to the GC, especially with the senior discount and off season rates.:confused3

I really appreciate Your help!:grouphug:

Have a Happy Day,
fairykin

We will be taking my mother who is a Senior.. how much is the senior discount? Do we need anything to get this? Edit to add...the only thing you need is the Senior 60 years or older...:thumbsup2

I think the Senior discount is about 30% off rack rate...

Is the triple AAA discout allowed in conjunction with the senior discount?

No you can only use one discount.

We will be booking 2 rooms is the Senior discount applicable to both rooms?

Yes, you can get two rooms with the senior discount.

I priced out my Dec. trip with the senior discount: DLH was about $185.00 per night (fees and tax not included) standard room. The senior discount is good for any date you choose...but book early the senior discounts fill up fast...I'm sorry but I did not price out the GC with the senior discount...jc

Hi Hi Disneyanajc!

Wow :worship: You gave me great information on the senior discount..what a good savings that is.

All I have to do is tell them I have a senior with me? or is an APR or whatever card that is required?

Thanks for all Your help!

Now I need to gather the info on what rides will be down and what construction is going on.:confused3

Do any of the Disney hotels have a shuttle? I know there is the monorail but that is ify whether it's working or not. Do any of them have a shuttle to the park?

I'm wondering if I should push our trip back to spring?
We like to go during the offseason because there are not big crowds.

What times in spring are not as crowded? We don't want to get into the spring break crowds.:grouphug:

If You have been in March or April could You please post of the crowds and the weather?

Muchos Gracias,
fairykin

Hi fairykin...

All I have to do is tell them I have a senior with me? or is an APR or whatever card that is required?

All you do is ask for the Senior Rates...they will tell you that when you register they will need to see your ID...You will need to put the reservation in your Mothers (senior) name...they will look at her ID :thumbsup2

Do any of the Disney hotels have a shuttle? I know there is the monorail but that is ify whether it's working or not. Do any of them have a shuttle to the park?

No shuttle...but if staying at the GC it is an easy walk to the main gate or the monorail...We stay at the DLH and love to stroll to the main gate...if mobility is an issue you can always rent a ECV for your stay.

We love early May...low crowds...good weather...jc

Disneyanajc,

I just looked at your join date next to your name...WoW..You've been here along time!:goodvibes When did this board start?

Ahhhh so when I book the reservations I need to put them in My mothers name.. Yet.. I will be paying them with My Credit Card....will that be a problem?:confused3

I would have though May was super busy with end of year school trips. It's good to know it's not.

:cheer2:

I did not have to put the reservations in my MIL's name; just told them that I'd have her with me (and I assume she'll have to show ID when we check in/out).

Hi again fairykin...
I just looked at your join date next to your name...WoW..You've been here along time!:goodvibes When did this board start?
Much longer then my date...I think it was around 1997??

Ahhhh so when I book the reservations I need to put them in My mothers name.. Yet.. I will be paying them with My Credit Card....will that be a problem?:confused3
I don't think this will be a problem...when you make your reservations...let them know you are traveling together...

OMG...senior moment! I meant to type March...

Hiiiiiiiii CindyH,

Thank You for letting me know that. I want to treat My Mother so I feel more comfortable putting it in my name.

Disneyanajc,:rotfl:
I understand!

Oohh i have to tell You this... You will love it!

We were having a mini family renuion and playing pictionary and the answer was related to Disney. My Mother In Law was sitting and knitting, she spoke in all earnestness and enquired...
Just how many of those 7 Drawfs were there?

:cheer2: That was the Ultimate Senior Moment!

I'll never forget that.. how funny!

JC

Ohmygosh!! Lucky Lucky! I want to go in December toooooOOOoooo!
We are staying at the Grand Califcornian in Nov. I'll tell You how our stay was. I want to dine at Napa Rose.

Please let me know how Your stay was in Dec. I just know it will be wonderful.

We used to take our kids to Walt Disney World and always stayed at the Grand Floridian.. but now we take our grandkids to Disney Land. My mother likes Disneyland better. And it's so much closer, we live in Texas.

Planning wise.. November trip is set.. I've ordered special things for each night of the trip... one night they are bringing Corona's and guacamole with tostadas... that will be fun to snack on and sit on the balcony. Another night the artisan wine and cheese basket. Champagne and truffles. And then one night for my hubby a Disney robe with a collection of their coffee. It should be special.

The Family trip in Feb. or early March..i'm just waiting on Disney to release dates so I can book.

But i'm already designing these cute hoodie sets for my grandaughters and I will have to think of something for my little captain hook.

I have the girls princess costumes to wear to the park .. and the captain hook costume i'm waiting to order because my little grandson is growing tallllllllllllllllllllllllll....

I'm also going to design a hoodie for my Mother and give it to her for Christmas... a Cute Mickey one.

I'll take pictures when they are returned to me sewn.

I saw where it says You are from california.

And it made me smile..because You are in californian and Love WDW!

My stylist at the salon says.... " I make my money on girls with straight hair wanting curly hair and girls with curly hair wanting straight hair".

Isn't that the Truth!!!! uumm i need to go curl my straight hair..:rotfl:

Oh well... that's the nature of girls!:cutie:

Have You ever been to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana? I love that Museum!

fairykinprincess:

Disneyanajc... I wanted to tell You I understand how hard it is to take them out of school.:teacher:

That's why we are going so soon after just having gone in Feb. and then my husband and I going in Nov. Because our twins will be entering school... so we *have* to go now. Or at least I see it as a *Disney Emergency*

It's easier to take one out of school for 3 days than 3 out.

It's sad when they go to school..I always think..once they start they will never stop until they are out of college and grown.:guilty:
