questions on upcoming trip

Okay, purchased Disney tickets today and we are planning on visiting the last week of September. Family of 4 with 2 girls aged 4 and 9 and planning on staying at Residence Inn/Anaheim Resort for our stay. Flight will get booked later and not sure whether we are flying into Santa Ana or Long Beach.. Question I have is debating between renting a car or not?? Our plan is to go to Disney parks 3 of the days and Knotts 1 day and also a beach day for 1 day. Leaning toward renting a vehicle but just wanted to get someone else's thoughts? Also what extra's should we try to plan or book in advance at Disney that would be a must for the girls?? Whether its a breakfast or whatever..? Thanks

If leaving the DLR area as you plan to I like the freedom of having my own car. But then again I am old school and have used Uber/Lyft like five times in my life. Particularly for a beach visit I would want a car in case you want to cruise to another beach town or someone gets sick/hot/tired.

Extras. We always booked a character breakfast. We did them all with my boys when they were young and our favorite was Minnie's at Plaza Inn. We liked it because we could go to the park for MM or rope drop then grab breakfast between 9am and 10am without leaving Disneyland. For girls my nieces always like to do some type of Princess encounter. Back in the day it was Aerials, now days I don't know what the hot one is. Cinderella's tea time?

I would also recommend a meal plan with reserved seating for F! and/or WOC.

You won't need a car for Disney or Knott's. It's up to you if having a car is worth it when getting to and from the resort, but neither John Wayne or Long Beach are that far from Anaheim.

Personally I wouldn't, but it's your call.
