Questions on placeholder

We just got off the steam on sun. I couldn’t seem to get the app to work to book a place holder so guest services did it. I thought the amount would come off the GC but she said in about a week I’ll get a confirmation email I also thought I’d get some sort of receipt while there when do I need to transfer this to our TA Do I pay for it when I get the email

Any advice you can give me on this would be greatly helpful. Thanks all

If you booked through Guest Services, it’s possible that they were able to charge to your account. Bookings made in the app ask for separate payment information. You should be able to go to your Castaway Club account on the Disney Cruise app and download the folio from your cruise to check whether your placeholder was charged to it. If it wasn’t, you will need to call DCL to make sure the placeholder was actually booked.

If you named a travel agent when you booked the placeholder, then that travel agent should receive notification that it was booked. If you didn’t name a travel agent for the placeholder but used a travel agent for your cruise, the placeholder notification may have gone automatically to that travel agent. If you did not name or use a travel agent, you have 30 days from the date of booking to transfer the placeholder to a travel agent.

When I booked a placeholder through the app two weeks ago, I had a confirmation email from DCL and another from my travel agent within a few days.
