I thought those of us who are excited about our new home or wishful home on the west coast would love to get some info from those who will be enjoying the Villas at the Grand Californian first. With a little over six weeks left to opening, and shamelessly copying others who did one for Kidani and BLT I thought we could start a VGC question thread.

Do you have any pictures??? PLEASE share!
How is the check-in process at the Grand Californian?
Is there valet parking? Was it free like at east coast DVCs?
According to several who asked and call there is valet parking but no freebies for DVC members at this time.
Do the shops have DVC merchandise?
What groceries are available and from where? Have you found any local grocery delivery services available? How about nearby grocery stores?
If you used bell services to deliver your bags to your room, how long did it take?
Are there any guest services in the DVC area? Are there any dedicated CM's for the DVC section? If so, what is their overall attitude with the opening?
Where is guest laundry located? Are the machines HE (high efficiency)?
Do the trash rooms have separate bins for paper/plastic/glass?
Is there a Community Hall? Please describe the activities available. Do you have pictures??
In some construction photos there appears to be a viewing area for the World of Color? How is the accessed?

What was your room number, room size and view?
Could you see fireworks at Disneyland? What do you anticipate your view will be for the World of Color?
If you were in a DEDICATED 2BR - do you have pictures of the 2nd bedroom and bath?
If you toured the models, were there any changes from the model furnishings and the actual room furnishings?
Is there an ice maker in the freezer?
Are the in-room washers HE or traditional models?
Where are the internet jacks? If there is more than 1, are they all "hot"? (i.e., do they all work?)
Is the thermostat motion-activated? Can you post a picture or post the model number?
How comfortable is the sleeper sofa? (0-10 scale with 0=bed of nails and 10=so comfortable I never got out of bed the whole trip )
How comfortable is the murphy bed/ "pull-down bunk bed?"
Do you have a copy of the resort map you can post?
For later guest, Is the World of Color soundtrack broadcast on an in-room TV channel?
How much noise you can hear in your room (from other guests rooms, the hallway, outside fireworks, etc)
Please provide a picture of the in-room safe (i.e., can it fit a laptop computer?) Can someone post a measurement? Or - what size is your laptop and did it fit?

Describe the pool.
How many people will the hot tub accommodate?
How much pool seating is there?
What pool items are offered? Vests for check-out? Pool noodles for sale? Water wallets or arm floats for sale? Sunscreen? Waterproof cameras?
Where are the restrooms located?
Are there changing rooms available?
Are lockers available for rent?
Is there a pool bar? Is food served at the pool bar? What is the menu?
Is there a mug refill station at the pool bar? What are the hours of operation of the pool bar?
What is on the in-room/private dining menu?
Are there DVC discounts on recreation activities? What are the discounts?
Is there a playground available?
How kid friendly does the resort feel?

Is there the same "perk" of getting to go to MM whenever available your length of stay that is available to those staying onsite in the hotels?
Will there now be a DVC discount for all Disneyland tours? Such as the Cruzin' California Tour?

Went to the Acorn Gift Shop. There was a small section devoted to DVC merchandise. Things like DVC cups and shirts.

It's hard to believe, but VGC will be open before we know it, too! I can't believe how quickly time has flown since I called my guide to put in my order for BLT points on Oct 1...and here we are on opening day! WOOHOOO!!
