Okay, so I'm going on the Podcast ABD Backstage Magic Tour in February....woo-hoo! :cool1:

However, I am going on my first ever trip to DLR in December...and I've been planning this for years!

In December, I am going with my sister who will be attending a conference at the conference center for part of our stay, so I had been planning to do some of the tours to pass my time alone.

Of course, Walk w/ Walt appealed to me as something that I would like that my sister (who enjoys going to the parks, but not talking about them :sad2:) wouldn't be sad she missed out on.

However, I will be very grumpy if I go on WWW & then hear the same information repeated when we do some of the DLR portion of the ABD trip (you mean $2500 gets me what I heard for $60 already?! :scared1: )Also, I have read quite a few Disney history books as of late and rarely hear anything on the podcast/boards/etc. that I haven't already read.

I know I've read some trip reports where folks did Walk w/ Walt as part of their free time on the ABD trip. So, what did you all think? Was it a nice compliment to your trip or just a watered-down version of what you experienced on ABD? :confused3

This would be a great compliment to an ABD trip. Walk in Walts Footsteps does not duplicate the ABD info if I remember correctly. There may be the odd overlap but it was different information for the most part.

I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour about a month ago. I HIGHLY recommend it! :thumbsup2 It was a very special tour and difficult to review because you really have to experience it in order to feel the magic of it all. It includes audio of Walt himself discussing the places you are standing at, a ride on certain attractions, and a wonderful lunch. I 100% feel you should try it out! You'll have a blast!

If you do go on both tours, please post your thoughts and comparisons! We are going on the July ABD trip. We probably won't do ABD next year, so we'd love to know if WWF would be worth doing in the future.

I did the WiWF tour in 2006 and loved it. I got quite a lot out of the tour and felt it heightened my appreciation for things I've been reading in books for years. They have a lot of unique information, and even if you've read about things in a book, there's no substitute for a knowledgeable tour guide showing you the real thing in person. Further - they give you additional information that I haven't read in books, even if it's a slightly different spin on things.

I did the ABD trip in July this year, and while they did provide a small amount of the same information as the WiWF tour, they are two totally different experiences. One is an in depth tour of Disneyland including some behind-the-scenes things. The ABD trip is very in depth and tours many areas no public tour covers. Our ABD guides talked briefly about a couple of the same things as the WiWF tour, but you do so much more on the ABD trip, and your focus is over days and two parks.

If you're a Disney geek, I highly recommend both tours. They do partially cover things you've heard about or have read about, but are totally different experiences and cover significantly different information for the most part. Enjoy your ABD trip and hopefully also the WiWF tour!
