So I got my first ever AP (yay!) to use for our trip in May 2020.

We are already booked at Boardwalk Inn with a water view. Dates are firm and we want that view. I know not much of a chance of discount, but....

....JUST SAYING that magically an AP discount comes out for May 2020 and Boardwalk water views are included/available. Can I add the discount to my reservation that's already booked, or would I need to re-book?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance!

Haha, edited because I misread/misunderstood your post.

The only thing I would add is to not give up if discounts initially come out and your room category isn't included. That happened to us for our December 2018 trip (our deluxe WL CL room originally wasn't discounted), so I stalked the website pretty much daily, and a substantial discount came out about a month before our trip (saved us $1400!). When I called to have the discount applied to our existing reservation, the CM commented that we were really lucky because that room category often isn't included in AP discounts.

Good luck...my fingers are crossed for you! :)

I would say you are pretty much incorrect about the discounts. They have discounts pretty much 360 days out of the year. Pretty much only days without a discount are 12/25-31. Just give it time, BWI Water View rooms are regularly included in AP discounts (often at 40%)
