Questions for Platinum Loews card holders

I was just upgraded to the Loews Platinum card and was wondering what exactly the "perks" were.
To all of you Platinum card holders, in your experience, what exactly have you been able to take advantage of. Being a Loews Blue, Gold and now Platinum holder, those "perks" sometimes don't happen depending on what rate I purchased the reservations at. It said I am now entitled to a "free" suite. Would I have to pay full rack rate in order to get it and what type of suite would accommodate 5 people. Any info would be appreciated. We've gone to Universal three years in a row now and have chosen to go here in lieu of Disney because of it being cheaper. We'd like to go again next year and was wondering if we could still get the "free" suite at Entertainment rate. Thanks for all your help.

We were always upgraded to a suite at the US resorts when I booked at any rate. Portofino gave us the best suites.
Recently we booked a room at the Loews Miami and were also given a suite, same was true at teh Philly Loews. It has been over a year that we have stayed at a US resort though.
I usually book through the website, they often have great specials.

This past Feb and April we were upgraded to King suites after getting AAA rates and AP rates. This Nov, same thing. If you're ever denied the upgrade, and you are staying more than a few days, and of course don't mind switching rooms, ask each morning. We get two rooms and most of the time get upgraded on at least one, sometimes both. Good luck.

We also just received our platinum cards and have a weird question. Has anyone ever booked and been upgraded at the time of reservation and also added club service. We had a club room this year at Portofino and want to do it again. Yet, I don't want to waste 2 plat cards w/ suite upgrades. Any advice?
