I would like to know if any of you have ever made wedding plans at the last minute. My daughter would like to get married at Disney World in sept of this year. Does anyone have an idea on how difficult that would be? It going to be small, less than 18 guests. Have any of you done the small packages and if so what did you think? Thanks for any info, Laura

Don't worry - September is not last-minute for Disney! That's more time than it took to plan our custom wedding, and I head they once did a wedding on two weeks' notice!

The great thing about a Disney wedding is that they do all of the coordinating. All the couple has to do is fun stuff, like picking flowers and cake flavors.

Check out the Escape Wedding info on the Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding website: http://disneyweddings.go.com/site/wed/int/start/index.jsp

Congratulations to your daughter!

thank you so much, I feel so much better about everything. What do you think about the small wedding packages?

They seem like a great way to go for a simple, personal ceremony. You can customize or swap out a few of the elements, although that may mean paying more money. They don't include a meal, however, so you would need to make your own arrangements. Sometimes this can be difficult because the morning ceremony times necessitate a lunch reception, and a lot of Disney restaurants aren't open for lunch. But if you don't want a private room, there are several options.

It's hard to point you straight to the trip report of an Escape Wedding bride off the top of my head. Reading one might help you visualize the way it all works.

Here's one!

Hope this helps!

Thank you, I am going to call on monday to start the process, and I will be looking out for wedding trip reports.

we were engaged in december and married in may so anything is possible. good luck with the planning!

i began planning my january wedding with disney at the end of august, i signed my contract in the middle of september and everything worked out fine!

i got engaged sept 1,2007 had my my first meeting with disney abot 3 wks later, and we got married feb3,2008 disney is wonderful, they make it so easy!!

We're planning an Escape wedding, with only 3 months to pull it all together. From the Disney side, it's been no problem. Getting dresses, however, is another story!

I'll concur with what everyone else said...

We were married in September and I started the process (called Disney) in April. We also had the Intimate (now Escape) package.

Disney knows what they are doing and can easily pull it all together in less than 6 months (I think the absolute minimum is probably like 60-90 days).

I agree. I don't think that you should have any issue at all! I would maybe be a little worried on the timing if you were having a custom wedding. The Escape wedding is a set package. I would definately start looking at the options at disneyweddings.com
