Questions for Park Hopper users

I have only ever used the UPH so I don't know the answers to these questions and the new MYW tickets are more like a park hopper. I am going to use the 10 day with the options for DQ and water parks and park hopping.

How do we know what's on the ticket or what's left?

If I use a plus option at DQ and want to return the SAME day to DQ, do I have to use 2 options off the ticket?

Are the old park hoppers person specific? Meaning, can anyone use the options. If I have 4 options left, can DS use mine for DQ if he's used all of his?

You may not know this one as the old park hoppers didn't expire:
Finally, if I order mine ahead, how will Disney know when they expire? I'm not getting the non-expiration feature.

I am up at 3 am from a nightmare that our tickets were expired when we tried to enter the gate at MGM on an EMH day :guilty:

Old park hoppers are not person specific. So you could give them to someone else to use.

You will be able to find out at guest relations, Disney hotels, parks, how many days you have left on your tickets.

As long as you get your hand stamped you should be able to return to DQ as long as you also have your ticket. All the Disney parks allow reentry during the day as long as you can show your hand stamp and ticket.

As far as when they expire, it probably is when you first use the ticket. It starts the timer on your use of the ticket.

I take it then that the new MYW tickets are person specific? If so, I hope there are names on them or how will we keep track of which ticket goes to which person?

Thanks for the info.

The plus is good for the whole day at the place you use the plus.

If you go to Pleasure Island, even if they were to scan your tickets twice in the night ( shouldnt happen, but it can... ) then the second swipe on the card is only considered to be "re-entry"

The new MYW tickets won't have a person's name printed on them, but they will use the biometric ID scanners to prevent them from being used by anyone else (at least until the lines at the gates and the number of complaints from Guests who have trouble with those gadgets creates a major problem for WDW!)

The rumor is that tickets sold in bunches will have the biometric readings stored in bunches, too, so that if Dad accidentally puts Mom's ticket in teh turnstiles, it will still work for him because Dad's and Mom's tickets are both in the same group. So, DS should still be able to use your Plusses to get into DQ.

MYW tickets expire 14 days after the first day they are used, no matter when they are bought.

Keeping track of how many days and plusses you have used has always been a matter of paying attention, because the only way to check is to take your tickets to Guest Relations or to a ticket window at the parks. I've never really had a problem with this, since it's simple subtraction, but if you have a whole family of tickets to keep track of you might want to take a sharpie marker and roll of masking tape to WDW with you, put a strip of tape on the front of each pass, and mark it with a D for each day you use and a P for each plus you use, and maybe the initials of the person it belongs to.

Thanks for the info. We never had to worry about which ticket belonged to which person, but it sounds like it really isn't going to matter. And, we never had to worry about how many times we went to Quest. I know I will never use all my plus options in my visit.

I've got to wonder now if - since the tickets will be unuseable by anybody but the first user - you will be able to call a number and find out what's left on the ticket.

I don't have a criminal mind (at least I don't think I do) and I can't foresee a way for anybody to cheat the system. With that logic, I wonder if Disney will ease up on the "must-check-in-person" policy.

unless you buy the no expire option

We will be there 11 days so I am not planning on buying the non-expiration MYW ticket...thanks for the clarification :)
