Question #1...Has anyone ever been "upgraded" when using DVC points? Like from a studio to a 1 bedroom? Not that I'm looking for a "free" upgrade, just curious if this has ever happened.
So please don't pummel me over that "?".:confused3

#2...I have rented points from a DVC member for a studio 5 nights at OKW. I was trying not to be a complete pain to this nice & patient DVC member so I had to work around what points he had a available. We have a SV Studio at AKV, and a studio at OKW however, I would have liked to try a 1 bdrm. at OKW but that would have meant that he would have transferred points from another member to his acct and so on...so I just stayed w/ a studio at OKW . Is it possible upon check-in to pay cash for an upgrade to a 1 bedroom?
I really have no idea if this can be done. But I'm really trying to convince my DH to buy into DVC and I'd love for him to experience the comfort and roominess of the 1 bdrm. It might just help in the convincing part ;) .

By the way, we will be staying at OKW from April 30 thru May 5. I'm not sure how busy it might be at this time and if OKW is near capacity it might have an impact on whether or not I might be able to upgrade. Also, is there someplace I can find out how many studio rooms as opposed to 1 & 2 bedroom units that are available? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.;)

Since DVC resorts are typically booked to capacity, it rarely happens.

No, this is not possible.

Usually the only time a member gets an upgrade is because the last room available in their room was taken out of service because of a maintenance problem. Almost all the time, you get the room you booked on points.

OKW will probably be at full capacity during your time frame. Other members were looking for villas and none were available. Plus there are probably wait lists for the rooms.

I don't believe this is possible.

I just know that we'll be there April 27-May 1st in a 1 bedroom and I had a really hard time getting any room there. This was when I called last week.
