Questions for anyone who did Extended hours for deluxe resort guests

Loved Epcot! Walk on for everything ( week before Thanksgiving) and road Soarin and TT multiple times. I’ve never seen the park that empty in my many years of staying at BWV.

Can I assume for our April trip that Extended hours will be Monday at EP Wednesday at MK? I only see about 2 months out on the site. If not, any issues with changing Park ressies at 2 months out?

We are checking out of our resort on 12/15- can we still go to Deluxe Evening hours at MK that night?

Epcot 11/21 - later start due to family member not feeling well after Harmonious (which is just gaudy and has no soul IMO). Walk ons at Soarin’ Spaceship Earth and kids hit Test track which had a 30 minute wait and we adults hit Frozen twice. Skyliner Back to Riviera with no line.

Magic kingdom 11/24 - POC, BTMRR, Carousel, JOTLM, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Speedway, Buzz X2, Astro Orbiter and chilled on Hub grass for last 15 minutes watching castle projections. Mostly walk ons and we intentionally avoided the two headliners with longer waits. Had a break in Tomorrowland for Mickey pretzels too.

Sydnerella, thank you for letting us know what you managed to accomplish at both parks.
👍

Just extended our Poly stay post Galactic Starcruiser by 2 days so we can take advantage of extended hours for both MK and Epcot. If they change anything about this negatively before our June trip we will cancel everything!

Please pardon me if this question has been asked and answered. I’ve done some searches and can’t find it. Am I correct in assuming, but just like when evening hours used to be before all of World showcase is closed except a few odds and ends things?

We did extended hours at MK the first weekend in Feb, we got there about 30 min before park close, and stayed until the end of the event.
we had fun during the event, the park emptied out pretty quickly, and just about everything was a walk-on after about 45 minutes.
we did Pirates, haunted mansion, thunder mountain, teacups, buzz light year twice, speedway, dumbo, and I think Peter Pan. (But it’s been awhile) we skipped space mountain because we had done it earlier, and nephew wasn’t feeling the wait for the mine train.
couple of observations-

-on the night we were there, the CMs were using hand held magic band scanners instead of the touch points. This caused some lines to back way up at the entrances. One of the CMs we chatted with said they usually used the touch points and it went much faster.

-when the event is over, it’s not like park closing. The park is CLOSED. You won’t be admitted to shops, you are politely steered to the exit. So if you have any shopping you want to do (which I feel is a waste of time in such a short event) do it early. We were desperate for bottled water, and the only place we could get it was the stroller return place.

-bus service for us was bad. We were at OKW, and stood in a full queue for well over 30 minutes before any bus showed up. That was pretty brutal. The queue for boardwalk filled up its entire queue and the walkway, but they at least got a bus every few minutes. It was bad enough that if I had it to do over, I’d drive, MK parking and all. But bus service is also wildly inconsistent, so it might be fine.

I'm glad to see this thread resurrected. I'll be there next week and would like to hear about some more recent experiences.

We did two MK and Epcot deluxe hours between March 15 - March 23. Great experience both times. We stayed at Grand Floridian for the MK night and Beach Club for the Epcot night so could walk back to our resort afterwards. Would 100% schedule future trips around these hours since the temperature is nice and most of the rides we want to do are walk-ons. We are not a rope drop family so this was perfect for us. Only downside is that Disney extended regular hours to 11pm for MK making these deluxe hours end at 1am. I’m too old to stay up that late anymore 😭

We were there during a sold out parks week, March 11-17. Here’s a few tips on what we would have done differently and what worked for deluxe extra magic hours:
-for Epcot, our biggest mistake was not being in line at 9:00 at test track when Harmonious started. We were in France and tried to high tail it over there, but by the time we made it, Harmonious had just ended and everyone had the same idea . Plus, the scanning of bands is not efficient. Kind of a hot mess. We waited 35 minutes and left right after. I kind of feel like it’s a bust just because everything is so spread out there. We wanted to ride test track one more time so the extra magic hours afforded us that. We could’ve easily gotten in line for Frozen or even Soarin’ but we were just exhausted and our feet and legs were done (this was day 4 at this point, in which we visited 3 parks each day). 2 hours is not that long in hind sight.
-for MK, we started stacking rides that began at 8:40, and by 11:00 had rid all the big rides. We easily couldve stayed, and most rides were walk on by 11:00 (which was official park closing). All the mountains and 7DMT still had 30 minute waits, but boy the park was empty. It was peaceful. If it hadn’t of been at the end of our trip, we would’ve stayed longer and rode more rides. We had just ridden everything multiple times by that point.
-food options are limited so make sure you get snacks prior

I did the March 21 Epcot hours from 9-11 PM, arriving about 9:20ish from the Boardwalk resort area. The Seas was a walk-on. The walk to get on would have been much faster if the attraction cast had utilized the Genie+/Lightning Lane queue. After that, I did Soarin' after about a 10-15 minute wait. Test Track was a 35-minute wait to close out the night. Mission Space and Spaceship Earth generally had 5-minute wait times listed in MDE. Like me, many guests decided to do Test Track last. Considering everything, it was a good night for a spring break week.

If you are staying DVC at one of the deluxe resorts, is this perk available to you?
Also, do you foresee this extended time lasting into summer?
Yes, the perk is available to anyone staying at a deluxe resort.

I'm really looking forward to the deluxe hours. We upgraded from POFQ to WL mostly for these. I just hope on my MK day in July it's 10-12 instead of 11-1 lol

We will be staying at the Polynesian will the monorail be running or will we have to take a bus
