We have booked our first Disney Cruise for Oct. 6, 2002. I was wondering about the dinner arrangements. I know when we were on Carnival we had a Formal Night and the children went to Camp Carnival and had their own party. Is there anything like that on Disney.

Also, I have seen something about your evening meal rotating rooms or something. Can you explain? And if so, had is our best plan for that?

I hate to keep bring up Carnival, but it is the only thing I have to compare - but on there they did special things each night for our kids like make a cute animal out of towels etc and placed it on their bed ... will anything like that happen?

Besides shopping; what all is there a charge for on the ship?

Thank you so much in advance for all your help. We are looking forward to it.

I will try to answer some of your questions, but I'm sure Dave or Michelle can answer them more professionally. We were on the 7 day Eastern Magic. You didn't specify which cruise you are taking.

1. The kids can go to the Disney Lab/Club any time after 9:00am, including dinner. They have pizza parties, nighttime pool parties and all kinds of fun stuff.
2. Every night you rotate to a different restaurant. The seven day cruise has 3 completely different themed restaurants. There is usually a formal night. I rented a tux for my DH and he loved it.
3.Yes. Yes. Yes. Our favorite part of the evening was coming back from dinner and seeing which towel animal was in our room.
4.There are tips (which they give you estimates for), alcohol, sodas (except at dinner). You can buy a soda mug for $35.00 on the 7-day cruise. I'm sure the 3-4 day cruise mugs are cheaper. Also budget money for pictures. They vary from 9.95 to 19.95 but they are worth it. Very professional. Also any excursions you decide to take. Make sure you book them early. I think you can book them 60 days in advance.
I hope this helps just a little. I'm sure you'll lots of other advise. Have Fun.

Thank you for the info... And it is really neat that we will be on the same cruise. I have to finalize everything Monday... so if you have time to answer something else... We have picked a Deluxe Stateroom w/ a verandah. I was wondering which side of the ship would be best to be able to sit on the verandah and watch the island as we ported. Do you remember from your last one?

If I remember correctly at Castaway they backed in, so the
starboard ( right ) side views the island and at Nassau the same thing the starboard side you were able to see the ocean and Atlantis the port side was the Nassau view which is not pretty at all unfortunately. I believe I heard that Castaway sometimes they
back in and sometimes they do not. I think it depends on the water conditions. Let me know if you have any other questions.
On the May cruise it was me(38) Sisterinlaw(28) Motherinlaw(55?)
niece (8). A girls cruise we had a blast. We had a secret porthole room. October its only Sisterinlaw and me. We booked a Navigator Verandah Room this time .
