Questions about WL's Territory Lounge

I must have overlooked this before on wdwig. It is a full service bar adjacent to Artist Point. They look like they have some good appetizers. We would be interested in going there if: 1) it would be appropriate for our 14 yo DD and 5 yo DS, 2) don't have to dress "fancy" like at Artist Point, 3) and is non-smoking. Thanks to anyone who can give us any info.

We went to TL on our trip last year. We had stopped by WL just to explore because my mom and uncle had never been there before and I think its just beautiful. Well, while we were there a "monsoon" hit! Torrential rain, thunder, lightning. So what to do? We headed into the Territory Lounge! It was great! We didn't eat but the appetizers sounded good. We stayed for a couple of hours riding out the monsoon and caught a football game on their big screen.

The staff were great and showed much interest in whether we had everything we needed, etc. I wouldn't think there would be any problems with small children in there either. Its not like a neighborhood bar. If you are staying at WL, check it out and see if you think you would feel uncomfortable taking your kids with you. I doubt it. I'm pretty sure its no smoking-- doesn't Florida have a smoking ban statewide in public places?

We pretty much had the place to ourselves the whole time we were there. And, no, you don't have to dress up at all. We would definitely go back again.

Don't know if this helps or not. Have a great trip.

It would be no problem for kids to be in the Territory Lounge. There's no dress code and no smoking. The cast members there have always been great and they serve an excellent personal-size pizza! It could also provide a nice chance to teach your kids about the Lewis and Clark Expedition...just look up at the ceiling! Have fun!::MickeyMo

I was there a few weeks ago and there was a small child sitting at one of the tables - I don't think that there would be a problem. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere there. The mudslides are amazing too! Since we brought the grandparents with us we were able to go there after the kids were in bed - wonderful way to wind down...

A bar for children is only as appropriate as you think it would be. When we used to go there, our kids much preferred waiting for us in the arcade and having themselves a nice snack in the snack shop. What kids wants to sit around a bunch of adults in a bar.

Other than that...enjoy. It is one of our favorite places to kick back and relax.

We ate the Buffalo Burgers there..very good. It is all non-smoking now. Kids should not be a problem depending on the crowd at the bar and the time you go. we went a little later and there were some pretty interesting couples there. One night it was 'swingers' if you know what I mean. They all had wedding rings but the 2 women (standing) kept changing places to the men (on bar stools) and kissing and 'intimately touching' one another  The next night they seemed like 'locals'. They all knew the bartender really well and were kind of trashy. As long as it's earlier in the evening ..before the drinking really starts..you should be fine.

Everytime we eat at Artist Point (where, by the way, there is no need to dress "fancy" unless you want to) we stop at the Territory Lounge. Almost always see some kids in there w/ parents, either having those appetizers, or just waiting for a table at AP.
