My family and I are going to be at the Villas at the end of the month(our first time at this resort too) and I am traveling with my 4 yr old ds for the first half of the trip and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with things to entertain him with. I plan on going to MK but I still have a few days to fill in(I want to save our tickets for when his big brother and Dad arrive) So I was wondering what other people did to entertain their families at the Villas and Wilderness Lodge without going to the parks, either using Disney transportation and going somewhere or just staying there at Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks any help would be great......

There are many things you and your DS can do just at the resort. I am posting part of my post from the FAQ thread on Wilderness Lodge and the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge.

Along with the information below there are boat and bike rentals available or a trip over to Ft. Wilderness campground for pony rides, hay rides a free movie with Chip n' Dale.

What activities are available at WL for children?

On select days Wilderness lodge has programs for children: Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek, Pool Games, Fireside Storytelling, (Meet in your pajamas at the Mercantile Fireplace) Beach Games, Penny Toss & Duck Rings.
(Daily 3-4 p.m. @ pool)

Daily Activities: Open Crafts and Games in Cub's Den (free)
Children must be accompanied by an adult. 2:30-4:00pm

*For good rainy day activities, ask for a Kid's activity/coloring book at the bell station or a list of Hidden Mickeys at Guest services. You can also get a list of the resort's music at the Mercantile shop.

Explore the resort:

Indian artifacts, historic paintings, and survey maps are displayed. Follow Silver Creek from it's indoor origin as a Hot Spring and onward outside as a bubbling brook and waterfall, eventually making it's way to Bay Lake.
Flag family:

Ask about becoming a Flag family. Each morning a family is selected to go on the Lodge roof to help raise the flag! This is a wonderful and very popular treat, that can only be requested at check-in, prior reservations are not possible.

You are going to love the Villas, have a great trip.

Just looking in a brochure and it doesnt make this clear ...

No the Wilderness Lodge and the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge are one complex. Ft. Wilderness Campground is just very close to the other resorts...less than a mile away. The resorts are connected by boat, bus and walkways.

Anyone can visit the Campgrounds to do the pony rides, hay rides. You just have to pay the cost.

when you check in ask for an activities list.

plus I think even in the studios at VWL now have DVD - you can rent them in the gift shop.

the arcade might also be usefully.

no they are next to each other.

some guests at FW try to make them part of the same complex by using the pool.

but only VWL/WL guests (plus DVC members) are allowed to use the WL pool and VWL pool.
