Got through to Disney and DVC on chat. Here is what I learned in case someone else has the same questions...

I have a few questions about our upcoming trip (July). I'm trying to get through to both Disney and DVC, but it's not easy at the moment. I thought someone else may have had similar questions answered after the re-opening was announced:

  1. Can I change the name of one of the guests on my reservation and reassign the ticket I had already purchased to her? Yes, as long as the ticket has not be activated.
  2. To save time (not call Disney), can I add the new guest to our current reservation (no problem with room capacity) and then delete the person who is no longer joining us? And then go into MDE and reassign the ticket? Do you think that's safe or should I have a rep help me? As you can imagine, I am hesitant to do something that will jeopardize our current reservation and ticket status! Yes, I can modify my reservation online and add the new guest (I do have capacity to do that with the room we have), then remove the person who is not going.
  3. At this time, I still have ADR's. I'm assuming those are going to vanish (some have already, but not all?), but if they don't and I change our guest list for the trip, does that cancel the ADR's we still have? All ADR's are being removed even if they aren't showing that status as of now, so this will not be an issue.
  4. If Disney does not allow park hopping and we through the park reservation system we are unable to even get the total park days on our tickets, will Disney reimburse us for the days we will not be able to use and refund us for the park hopper option? There is no word on how park hoppers will work at this time, so this is something I will need to revisit with them later.
Thank you to anyone who can help me with these questions :)

A TA friend of mine shared with me...which she shared with all her current cash clients, that Disney has informed them that the park hopper option will be removed and guests refunded that portion of the ticket. No indication for how long this would be in place

In addition, no one is guaranteed that they will get a park reservation every day of their trip...at least at this point. If someone can’t get it, they will be refunded the number of days no Park was available. It does sound like if there is something open but it’s not your park of choice, and you decline, it won’t count for a refund.

She cautioned all her clients that everything is subject to change. It is possible Disney is putting out worst case scenario expectations and that when the reservations begin, it will be better.

She had no info on whether DVC reservations will be treated any differently than cash.
