Questions about Thanksgiving crowds

We are planning a trip this Thanksgiving. We will be getting there the 27th (which is Thanksgiving Day) and we'll be leaving anywhere from the 3rd-5th (not yet decided) This will be my boyfriend and his niece's first time, my Ilostcount time, lol, and I'm worried about the crowds. I really don't want to spend all our time waiting in lines and it being so crowded you can't walk unless you're in a single file line... We're wanting to go on the 27th to take advantage of us being off work for a holiday but I am thinking if it would be better to get there that Saturday instead. I went back in 2006 around the same time and crowds were low but I've been reading up and I'm getting mixed reviews from the last couple of years, some saying it was CROWDED and some saying not at all. I grew up going in June and July and gone a few times during other months and summer time was always SO crowded it was a breath of fresh air going during off season and I really want them to experience it like that too. Anyways I'm just trying to get a better idea of how the crowds are going to be.:)

A few more questions
When do they film the Christmas Day parade?
Does anyone know if they ever do free dining during those dates?
I've never made dining reservations and never had a problem but my sister always does tho. What's ya'lls opinion? Should I do reservations for this trip?

Thanks for all the help!!!!:cheer2:
