I want to stay at AKL but really cant afford the price . I was thinking we could stay at ASM half and AKL half. How do I go about moving from one resort to the other without a rental car?
Is this something that irritates Disney? Moving from one resort to another or are they happy to help out?

Contact bell services- they will move your luggage from one Dinsey-owned resort to another. Usually they will pick it up before checkout at your original resort, and deliver it to your new resort later in the day. When you check into your new room, call bell services and let them know. P.S. be sure to tip at both ends!

I did this, and it was no problem at all! We stayed 5 nights at the Beach Club Villas and 2 nights at AKL. All we had to do was call bell services the morning we checked out of BCV and tell them we needed our luggage moved to AKL. They took care of everything. We were free to do what ever we wanted for the day, then when we were ready, we went over to AKL, checked in, and called for our luggage to be brought to our room. I loved splitting our stay between two resorts and will probably always do this from now on. AKL is great! You will love it!

We do this on each trip that lasts for more than 5 days. It's like having two vacations in one...getting to enjoy two very different places. We never have a car, so Bell services moves our stuff for us and is very nice about it. We call the night before to set a time (sometimes they say call in the morning) to have the bags moved for us. We then either go to a park for a while or go to the other resort for pre-check-in. These are the resorts we've moved from-to: CBR-WL, AKL-Poly, BWI-GF.

We love switching resorts. Best of both worlds. We spend 2 or 3 nights at a Disney resort, then move to one of the DVC resorts for the duration of our stay.

As the others have stated, bell services will move your luggage if your not renting a car.

I suggest starting out at the ASR then moving up at the end of your stay. Something to look forward too, ya know?

Thanks everyone for your input. Thats what I will do then because I really would love to stay at the AKL. Laurabearz I will for sure stay at the ASR first, because once we stayed at the WL and then went to Daytona beach and stayed at a less expensive hotel and it seemed like a dump compared to WL, I wanted to go back to WL.
