Questions about Room Rates and Disney Specialist TA

I am completely confused about finding the best rate possible when staying at a WDW resort. I have a couple of questions:

I have read posts suggesting some TAs have quoted better rates than are found on the Disney website.

I have read posts saying "packages" purchased thru a TA may not provide the same "MYW extras" or provide different bundled extras.

Are TAs "booking" rooms based on availability or "re-selling" rooms purchased in bulk from WDW?

Other than convenience if TAs are "booking" rooms is their a $$$ advantage of using a TA?

Thanks

The rate the TA can book for you is the rate you can get from WDW if you call and book yourself. If you book a package you will from WDW the same things as if you are booking it yourself. Now Travel agency can add certain things if you book with them, I know mine offered a $25 gift card for booking by a certain time.

Basically the bonus of using a Disney specialist TA is that they will be on the lookout for any promotions or codes that come up that you could take advantage of and call and get it for you. They do the work.

Also, the Disney specialist TA should be able to make solid recommendations for hotels, dining, etc, be willing to help/make your ADRs for you & handle any changes that come up and need to be made.

Keep in mind a TA "owns" the reservation. Any changes, additions, etc. all must be through the TA. (You can make your own ADRs if you choose to.)
Some travelers this bothers. Some this does not.
