questions about Port Orleans

We are going to be staying at Port Orleans-Riverside. What can you tell me about the different locations there? I read there were two seperate sections. And then different buildings? Any info about this???

We stayed a week in Magnolia Bend in 2006 and were a little underwhelmed about the accomodations. We made the decision to stay there after a week at the FQ the previous year. It was not bad place to stay, just did not live up to our expectations - we wished we had stayed at Alligator Bayou. Not that it was not themed well or of poor quality; the rooms were clean, the pools were nice, landscaping was excellent etc... We just both felt that once you were staying in the manors you kind of lost the attraction for them as it seemed like a big, white, stucco hotel that could not be appreciated up-close. It is a very large scale theme that is better viewed from across the river - unlike FQ or Alligator Bayou, which have a more 'small scale' theme that is easier to appreciate and enjoy. That being said, I still really liked Riverside, just liked Magnolia Bend better passing by it on the way to another place.

We also stayed in the Mansion Section and thought it was
Beautiful!! Loved the Section. I think that it all depends
on your taste--because the Mansion section is
more sophistocated and the AB section is very Casual Country Feel.
Both sections are Very nice in themselves.

There are two sections to POR. Alligator Bayou is the woodsy section. It is more lush and just down to earth. Some of the AB rooms hold 5 people. The Mansions section is more of a Gone with the Wind setting and a can only accommodate 4 people.

We stay in the mansions. DH said that was the best place we've ever stayed at WDW!! It is sooo peacful there!!!

can anyone tell me about the quiet pools are there many and how far from the buildings DD and I planning to stop at PO riverside next August and expect it to be soooooooo hot
