Questions about POFQ & PORS pool bars

Hi all,

We're going to WDW in December (3rd through the 11th) and we're trying to decide whether we should stay at FQ or RS. I understand that both FQ and RS have a pool bar but I heard that one of them was open seasonally. Does that sound right? We've stayed at All Star Sports before and after all day at the parks we like to have a drink and hangout at the pool bar a bit so if FQ's or RS's pool bar would be closed or have shorter hours of operation than the other that would be of interest to us. Also, at the All Star Sports their pool bar is about 25 ft. from the pool. I assume it's about the same for FQ and RS? Do either FQ or RS have an indoor bar also... just in case it's chilly in December? Any info you can give is very much appreciated.

we just got back from POR i can't answer your question about the pool bar only being open seasonally i can just say it was opened last week when we were there. if i had to guess i would think it would be open all year.but if it isn't there is a lounge inside the hotel lobby right next to the general store.

We typically travel the day after Thanksgiving for 11 days. Stay at POFQ the first four days before going to AKL. As I recall the pool bar was open when we were there. We have also been in Feb during slow time and it was open then. So, as best my memory serves me, it is typically open during the day but may close earlier during slow times. Perhaps others know for certain.

I noticed the pool bar was open in November when we were there in 2003. It was of course open this past Spring Break when we were there. The only drink I can recommend is the non-alcoholic Pina Colada...mmmm yum! (I don't drink and I really enjoyed the flavor of those Pina Colada smoothies). There is a bar inside PORs main food court/restaurant bldg. There is a fantastic piano man there, Bob Jackson. He puts on a great all ages show, my son got his autograph in 2003 and "helped" with a song. The only times we were near the pool bar was in the afternoons when the kids were playing at the pool so I don't know how late they were open. Hope that helps!

does anyone have any good pics of the pool bars at PO?? I never see them on any picture sites
