Southern California Questions about hotels

We are visiting LA/Hollywood and San Diego for 9 days after Christmas. It will be my DH, myself and our 2 teenage daughters. Our daughters are very excited about "seeing stars". LOL! Anyway, we will be doing the WB tour, Walk of Fame, Hollywood sign, Disneyland etc and I am so confused where to stay in LA. SO many different areas...we collect Marriott points so I am looking for a Marriott brand hotel. Can anyone suggest the best area/location to stay in that would work best for the major LA attractions.

Los Angeles is quite spread out, isn’t it? WB tour is in Burbank, Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Sign are in Hollywood and Disneyland is 35 miles away from them.

The Residence Inn Burbank is in a nice area a few miles from Universal and Hollywood.

Would it make since to stay in Anaheim? We would like to go to Santa Monica Pier as well..how far is Anaheim from above mentioned attractions?

Santa Monica is about 15 miles from the Hollywood attractions. About 45 miles from Disneyland. About 27 miles from Burbank.

If your 9 days includes San Diego as well as Hollywood and Disneyland then Anaheim is better for your hotel base. San Diego is 135 miles from Santa Monica and 95 miles from Disneyland.

I know it's a PITA to switch hotels mid-vacation, but if I were doing that trip, I'd stay in all 3 places -- a night or two in either Hollywood or Burbank, 5 nights in Anaheim, 3 nights in San Diego. In fact, we have done the Hollywood/Disneyland trip, as well as a San Diego/Disneyland trip, and we always switched hotels. Distances are just a little too far, and traffic much too bad, to try to cover it all from a single home base.
