Questions about Handicapped Accessible villas at Kidani

We just booked a 2 bedroom villa at Kidani for the end of August. We wanted a dedicated 2 bedroom, but the only Savanna views were for a handicapped accessible room.

Do you think we would be able to get a regular room when we check in? What if someone needs the accessible room, how would they be accomodated? I would hate to take a room someone needed. Also, are all the bathrooms accessible? I worry about the floors being wet and making it hard to use the bathroom after someone has showered. Other than the bathrooms and the sofa bed instead of the 2nd queen bed, are there any other differences in the rooms?

Thanks.

If someone had wanted that room and booked before you they would have taken it out of inventory. From past experience the floors in the bathrooms of HA rooms get quite wet while showering. They should not give that room to someone else once it has been booked by you even if you don't need a HA villa you choose to book it- why should someone who booked before you get stuck in that room just because you don't want it. You have a choice of not booking that category or taking a HA room.

We stayed in a Kidani HA one bedroom and did not have problems with water all over the bathroom floor. Maybe we rolled up a towel under the shower curtain but I don't think so. The shower floor is slightly sloped away from the shower curtain. Here is a photo:

Also, if you find it to be a problem you can use the tub shower in the other bathroom in the one bedroom side.

I would also waitlist. We have been subjected to HA rooms without ever booking one as a category and it causes great stress for us. I have a permanent scar on the back of my right hand due to burning my hand taking cookies out of the oven that is basically on the floor due to low placements of counters, appliances etc in some HA units. It was not a "magical memory". If the water on the floor and all the other differences matter to you....I would stay where I would be most comfortable. If we receive one of those rooms without requesting it now....I make a trip back to the front desk. I have a visible reminder of the low appliances.

Thanks for the replies. I certainly didn't mean to imply that I wanted someone who booked before me bumped to a HA room so I could have a regular room. I am relatively new to the whole process and didn't know if they would want to keep the HA room open for guests who need it. I appreciate the responses as to the other adjustments in the room. I think we will waitlist for a regular room. But if we don't get it, we will make do. We will be in Disney World after all! :yay:
