Hi Guys,
I'm new here but not new to DW, I live in SE Florida and come up to the parks 2-4 times a year. This year I've purposely booked mid September to avoid large crowds to attend the 2016 Food and Wine Festival. I've booked 4 nights 5 days to give me a chance to immerse myself into the Festival as in years passed I've only been able to stay a day or two. Here is my question or questions.. I'd like to book food and drink pairings, cooking and beverage seminars, and so on but my girlfriend can't really commit to certain days as she may have to work.. should I/can I book ahead and cancel if she's not able to make it and are tickets refundable ?? Should I wait until I get to the parks, since I'm going the first day of the Festival (and attendance should be low) to book my interests ?? All your help and advice is appreciated ! Thank you

There's no refunds on the F&W special events, so booking and canceling isn't the answer.

Also, don't expect the first week of the festival to have low crowds, it's quite popular with locals.

No refunds on special events. And waiting will make it uncertain that you will be able to book what you would like. I agree, the first week is not traditional particularly slow attendance

It's been my experience that the little food demos and wine tastings in the festival center ($15 each) are easy to book day of, I've only seen one or two totally booked out so you would be fairly safe to wait on those. I always book my meals and special seminars in advance and no they are not refundable. You might have a tad luck with some of the meals at not very popular places like the one in Morocco (which I've been to and was great).

Thank you guys for your help !! I'm going during the week and see how it goes. My inlaws went last year around this time and said everything was great, well as far as going on attractions through out the parks. I'm going 1st day of the Food and Wine and will check out Sunday, I'm enthusiastic.

Crowds at the attractions vs. the crowds for the F&W stuff in the World Showcase are two very different animals. Have fun!

Thanks Missy, I will ! I've been coming to DW since '78 but back in those days I was lucky enough to come (I'm from NY) every 5-7 yrs now that I live in Fla it's my escape from Palm Beach area but can only stay 1-2 days this is as close as I get to a real week a DW and I love FWF but can never experience everything so ...

My daughter and I will be traveling to DW in mid-September. We are celebrating my retirement from 40 years of teaching. F&W is just a perk of our chosen time; neither of us knew anything about it until we started reading up on the events during our stay. My questions are...

About how much do kiosk tapas/bites/ tidbits typically go for?

Can we charge them to our 'bands'?

Can The Dining Plan be used at all?

Thanks!
