Just curious will we be disappointed if we skip seeing Atlantis in Naussau? My kids are 5 and 7. Is the Discover Atlantis trip just going to see the Aquarium? Thought maybe we'd just stay on the boat since we are only doing a 3 day cruise. The only other excursion I was contemplating was the glass bottom boat ride. Any suggestions on whether to do that at Castaway cay or Naussau? Seems like there is more for the kids at Castaway Cay than at Naussau. I'm leaning towards the glass bottom boat ride at Naussau. Thanks for the help in advance. I also found out that you don't have to wait until 60 days before your cruise to book excursions, The Shore Excursion brochure is incorrect.

I've heard that the Glass Bottom Boat excursion isn't all that great - we didn't get to do it (thankfully) when we were in Nassau. Hopefully others can give you a first hand review.

The Discover Atlantis excursion is a pretty good trip. The theming of Atlantis is very good and the aquarium is better than anything Sea World or Disney (living seas) has. I think that your kids ages are perfect for doing this excursion.

Staying on the ship isn't a bad idea either. If we ever make it back to Nassau I'm not getting off of the ship :boat:

An Atlantis visit is nice and worth the effort at least once. The Dig is an aquarium..but done very nicely and with great theming. I've also heard the glass bottom boat isn't the greatest on Nassau. If we ever make it back there, we'll probably spend most of the day on ths ship as well....maybe head over to Atlantis for a couple hours.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like skip the glass bottom boat. I guess the Discover Atlantis Package will include The Dig. It doesn't state that in the brochure but does state that you will journey through Discover Atlantis. Home to more than 120,000 fish.Any ideas about this? I know that you can't swim or use the slides. Any other things for the kids to do?

We stayed at the Harborside a couple years ago, and the Dig was included. Honestly, I didn't find it all that great "it was neat", but you could walk through alot of the tunnels on your own with no problems. I saw more in Epcot at the Living Seas. But maybe I missed something. We did a Carnival cruise a year ago, and went to Atlantis to gamble at night, we walked the grounds, through all the tunnels, etc, not problems, it was pretty cool but definately not worth paying for.

This coming trip, my sis may go over, but we will probably stay on board and hang out! Or I may take my daughter shopping.

Really? You don't have to wait until 60 days out to make excursion reservations? How soon can you do it? Does the cruise have to be paid in full first?

Hi Karla,
I just found out about being able to book the excursions 90 days before the cruise. I leave on April 7th and I have spoken with two people who have already booked their excursions. I'm not sure if the trip has to be paid for before you can do this or not. Our balance was due yesterday. But it does sound like you can book excursions 90 days prior to sailing. Lisa :boat:

I was under the same assumption about being payed in full (a week left till that deadline now for me).

However after a kind soul on one of the boards pointed out you don't, I called and sure enough. Got my excursion booked. I tell you I was beginning to panic though because it was mentioned a lot of the excursions were booking full. Just happy and relieved to get mine. Give it a shot. The worse they can say in sorry..call back when... You'll probably be able to book it though :)
