questions about DVC vs. Disney Resort

My grandfather has a Blue/Green timeshare that we are looking to have transferred to RCI/DVC points and use. My questions are:
-if we stay on a DVC property, are we still eligibile for free dining or the dining plan at all?
-will we still be able to use Magical Express?
-can we take advantage of EMH?

I am thinking that it would cost us the same $$ whether or not we use the DVC. Yes, we would stay for "free", but we would need airport transfer and food $$ (we are hoping for free dining), not to mention park tickets and the other "perks" that we would be entitled to with a MYW package.

1. Free dining - no. That (and other deals) are only available to people who book cash packages through Disney.

3. EMH - yes.

You would have to buy separate tickets, so you wouldn't get any of the typical package perks (like a free photo, free mini golf voucher, etc.).

Agreed -- but if you successful making the exchange into DVC you will be permitted to purchase a dining plan.

you can also have grocery deliver to your villa. that would save you some cash.
