Questions about December dining

Hello everyone,
We had our trip planned for Sept. and free dining, but my son in law is in the army and will most likely be on training missions in Aug. and Sept....
So now we are finding that we are going to most likely switch our trip to Dec. 3-17. This brings me to a few questions.

1) We would like to eat at epcot and have preferred seating for the Candlelight procession. In theory I can start making my ADR's on June 4. I understand that it will not be possible to make the candlelight reservation then. So do I go ahead and make a reservation for Le Cellier, and plan on trying to make a new one when the candlelight ceremony reservation dates are announced?

2) I understand that at 180 days out I can make reservations for 10 days of my trip, starting with the first day. Is this correct? And if so, does that mean I have to call back 10 days later to do my last 4 days of reservations?
And one more thing about this, if this is correct, than how will I get reservations at 180 days out if potentially people have been making reservations already for 9 days.... (lol I think I am getting paranoid with all this planning...)

3) The Christmas party at Magic Kingdom occurs many days while we will be there. I would like to bring my grandson to that, and Liberty Tree Tavern the same evening. Does anyone know when the christmas party tickets go on sale? I couldn't find dates on the WDW website. And when I make my reservation for that dinner, do I tell them I want it during the Christmas party? Yes, I'm really this worried and confused...lol

4) I have been to disneyland a LOT of times, but it will be my first time to WDW and my first ever holiday trip to a theme park. At disneyland you can order a Christmas Tree to be delivered to your room, which is decorated with Mickey ornaments, cookies etc. I think they run about $200. Does anyone know if this is possible at WDW??

5) Do you know if any of the restaurants will have special menus during the time we are visiting, for the holidays? And we are purchasing the DDP. How does it work if there is extra fees? (I noticed a lot of the restaurants say the prices go up for holidays).

Phew...thank you so much, I really appreciate your help. I am loving this site more and more every day!!!

I'm sorry...one more question please.....

What can you order from the menu at TS restaurants....or I guess I should ask, what can you NOT order?

If there is an option of a platter....like at whispering canyon cafe, can you get that on the DDP?

I think this is really all now...lol thank you one and all!

The Christmas Party tickets goes on sale May 1st so I am told how much I don't know:)

We'll be there Dec 8th through the 13th. Can't wait to see everything.
Yes, make your reservations in June, then call back in August once the dinner package opens up. Hopefully, you will have no problem changing your reservation.
Tickets go on sale soon for the MVMCP. Be sure to make your dinner reservation for an early dinner. Although the party starts at 7, they will let you in as early as 4:30. Enjoy the park while it is less crowded.
As far as explanation of the dining plan, go to www.mousesavers.com and read up on her wonderful explanation and breakdown. It's really very simple once you get the hang of it!
Have fun planning:cool1:

Thank you tiger4me2 and bamor, believe it or not I read about the dining plan, but that was early on in planning...I will go and read it again.
Thanks!!
Any other ideas out there???
