I know there have been previous post but finding it confusing both here and at the Universal Studio website.

Where all do they serve character meals?
What character meals do they have?
Are they hard to get reservations for?

We have been to five of the character meals at Disney and really enjoy them. This winter we are planning doing Disney againand can do one of their meals again but looking to see if they have anything good at Universal or IOA.
My son currently loves Spiderman and saw something about it, but can not find any concrete info. Can anyone help?

We did the character meal at RPH on Monday night, and I would say skip it... Nothing like the ones in Disney (That is the one thing that Disney does much better than Universal) @ RPH, I swear there were only 2 tables with people (us and another family) then another came in so there was this huge dinning room with about 20 people total in it. Food was much better than Disney Buffets, but characters were kind of sad. Scooby & Shaggy where there and they came to us once, talked for a few minutes and never returned. You would have thought with such a small amount of people the interaction would have been better. I wouldn't waste your money, go to Tchop Chop Excellent!!

my experience was just the opposite.
the place had very few families and the characters just hovered over us.
i was wishing they would go away so i could eat my food.....

i have done many character dining at disney. it's a hit or miss thing if they come to your table. if you are at crystal palace to eat and come in after the characters have left your side of the room, it is an hour wait for them to return.

characters at disney do not talk.
they do pictures with the family, sign autographs then move along to the next guest.
characters at universal talk to you, personalize the chat by using your name you give them and jump on your table and act out the character they are portraying.

it's a hoot.

the spidey breakfast is good with that.

if only a few are dining at the time, like i said before, you start hoping they leave soon so you can eat your grub....:rotfl:
for us, we liked the food served at the hotels with characters more so than the spidey food. you have to be a breakfast person to enjoy character breakfast at any park.

we all have a different experience with character dining.

even though it's not my favorite anymore since i am going solo on my trips, i still take a few of them in.

with chip and dale at garden grill, i always do lunch there.

oh snap!! i had to change my entire dining adr's around to change my adr from the 6th to the 5th as that is the last day for character lunches at the place.
liberty tree tavern also losing their characters.....and i had to set my alarm clock for 6 in the morning at 180 days out to call and make the adr's.
when i got my call from disney dining to tell me my adr for garden grill was cancelled due to the place closing at lunch time, i was sad.

the cm could not get me any other time to book the adr for gg except for a very odd time i didn't want. i took it for the memory part of the place.
then the cm had the nerve to tell me, "you know, since you are staying on site, you could have called at 180 days out to get the time and date you really wanted for gg...............hrmpf...........i did ......how would i have known they were changing the ground rules when i called 180 days out.....

i say, flip a coin to decide do a character meal at uo or not.
