There may be 5 of us on our next trip, 3 adults, 2 kids 16 & 11. What are my choices of resorts? Thanks!

In August 2003, we took a family of 5 and stayed at the Polynesian. We had myself, DH, and 3 teenagers - 19, 15 & 13. All boys. And yet, amazing, even with all of the 'boy stuff' that seems to spread and ooze across a floor, we had a lot of room. I chose the Poly because I had read that their rooms are a little above average in size.

Hope this information helps...at least, it's an option to consider!!

If you don't want to pay Deluxe prices; the Port Orleans Riverside is the only moderate that will accomodate 5 guests and it's a BEAUTIFUL resort.

I'm not sure they will let her have 5 in her room at POR, since I don't think they consider anyone young enough for the trundle. I thought someone posted at one time they were told no. Unless her youngest is small for his age, I can't imagine spending a week on that trundle myself.

With 3 adults and 2 older children I'd choose 2 rooms at Pop Century over a Deluxe any day. You get the benefit of two bathrooms and two tvs, and you can get a break from the kids every once in a while just by going in the other room.

I have put an 11 year old in the trundle at POR, he didn't complain. Disney had no problems with putting him in that bed.

We stayed at the POR last year with me, dh, my 13 yo (who slept in the trundle), my 9 yo and a 1 1/2 yo.
This year we are staying at the CR.

I think you can get 5 into a deluxe room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge. I'm not sure what the configuration is but, for some reason, I'm thinking queen, bunk beds and a day bed. Others on this board will know.

Just tagging along...now that we are family of five :grouphug:

We are a family of 5 and have stayed at the Yacht Club and the Swan with 2 Queens and a rollaway bed. But my kids are much younger than the kids in your party. You may be much more comfortable in a moderate or value resort in 2 connecting rooms.

Thanks for all of your replies. I am leaning toward an Epcot area resort because of the location, possibly the Dolphin. All 5 in one room is not a problem for us because we ( my parents, myself, 2 kids ) have vacationed together before, and enjoy it. Which would you choose of the Epcot resorts?

Snowmouse- Was the 11 year old okay on the trundle? Comfortable enough for 7 nights? :sunny:

And you had three adults? I thought the thread where this was on (prob a year ago now), they were told with three adults, and those ages kids, you couldn't have 5 with a trundle. I guess it pays to keep asking. At that time, I thought the poster of that thread was told age 9.

That's the configuration we had for our family of five at AKL.
