I am leaving for the Magic 7 day tomorrow. Someone told me that although you dine at the Animators Palate two times in your dinner rotation, they only do the show the first time. Can someone who has been on the Magic recently tell me if this is true?

Also, am I correct - Is Monday night a semi-formal and Thursday night the formal Captains gala?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Diann,

We'll be sailing with you! I read that too about the AP show so am also curious if someone knows. if not, that second night might be good for Palo...

I initially thought like you about the formal/semiformal nights but have since come to think that Monday is the formal night and Thursday is the semi-formal-- can someone enlighten us?

Thanks!

Yes they only do the color-change show once during the week. We had the APL rotation and they did the show on the first night. Also, our formal nights were Monday and Thursday. I don't remember which was formal and which was semi because I wore similar dresses for both nights.

We're cruising with you! And it is true the "show" for Animators is on your first night there. Each restaurant has it's own theme and menu the is unique. And that's when Animators does it's thing.

On our past cruises, and according to the most recent Navigators I've seen, Fomral night and the captain's reception are on Monday evening and the Semi-formal night is Thursday.

Can't wait to be saling again!

Just another confirmation...on the 7 night western Magic...here was the schedule we had Thanksgiving 2004.

Saturday - Embarkation - Casual
Sunday - Key West (for us it was extra dose of CC) - Casual
Monday - Sea Day - Formal
Tuesday - Grand Cayman - Casual
Wednesday - Cozumel - Casual - Pirates in the Caribbean
Thursday - Sea Day - Semi-Formal
Friday - CC - Casual

We had LAP rotation...yeah, that meant Parrot Cay for formal and semi-formal, which we lived through, would have preferred Lumiere's but ya take the rotation you are given. Animator's Palate was the color show on the first night and the second night was Pirates in the Caribbean for our cruise and rotation.

Enjoy your cruise! Have a Konk Kooler for me at the Konked Out Bar...best place to get one and be sure they float a shot of dark rum on it for ya! And if you get a chance to could you find out what is in the "Aqua Marina" drink at Lumiere's??? DH and I had one Friday night (last dinner) for the Best of dinner and DH loved it...can't remember what was in it exactly though to make it at home. I do remember it had rum, blue curacao, a fruit juice, another type of liquor and a splash of Sprite. If you find out and post here I would be very appreciative!

Thanks again and hope you have a Magical Cruise!

TravelingDi, we'll also be onboard with you. Last year they only had the 'show' in Animator's Palette on your first time there. Formal night was Monday and semi-formal was Thursday. Look forward to meeting everyone onboard and don't forget we have a meet set up on Sunday morning in Sessions between 10-11am...Mark

Keep your expectations "reasonable" for the AP "show" and you are less likely to be disappointed. We thought it was very cool and I'll do it again in a heartbeat, but some people seem to have had different expectations for it - and I think some people don't like AP because they were disappointed.

The restaurant slowly changes color over an hour and a half. Lots of Disney music. Screens with stills of Disney animation that change. But this isn't Fantasmic!

Good point. It's not a show. It's very clever, changing decor, coordinated with recorded music. That's all.
