I went to a concert last night, shot some video ...

The video's play on the camera fine, but when I try to Download them to my PC they won't play?

Apparently Canon uses a ".mov" file, the icons in the folder show them labeled as Real Player videos but when I launch the video on real player I get an error message saying "real player could not locate the file" ... the files are definitely there but the odd thing is when I right click on the file, it shows 0 bytes ???? as if the video didn't really download.

am I doing something wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get these video's uploaded to my youtube channel (which is another issue, because youtube doesn't support .mov) :scared:

Do you have the program Quicktime on your computer? I have that and it plays all my canon movie files no problem. Try downloading quicktime and see if it will play your movie. Also Youtube will convert your movie when you upload it. I upload .mov files all the time to Youtube with no problem.

Thanks for your reply, I do have Quicktime and I tried to play a video and I get an error ... something about how the files cannot be found, sort of the same error from Real Player.

I've tried to upload the videos to youtube and it errors out saying the file type is not supported.

I'm thinking there is something wrong with the file, once I download them from the camera, the properties show 0 bytes .... almost as if there is nothing in the file.

But the odd thing is, the movies play perfect on the camera itself???

I've tried about 4-5 different converters too, and each time I try to convert one of the .mov files it errors out?

:(

If your file shows zero bytes something is wrong with it. Thats why it wont play in quicktime. Sounds like its somehow being corrupted when you transfer to your computer.
How are you transferring it to your computer? Are you using a program or just copy and pasting them over from camera? You might want to try a card reader and copy them over that way if you havent tried that.
