question: restaurant with deposit

I booked Akshuris for my family of nine with a credit card hold. Some family members may not be able to come. What happens if they do not show up. Do I pay the penalty for some on the ressie or is it ok as we did not abandon the ressie?

I know last October I booked an ADR for 3 and my older neice decided to stick with her other reservation so it ended up only being 2 people there. I wasn't charged a fee for this.

The official policy is:
"There is a 2-day cancellation policy and a $10 per-person charge if you cancel within 2 days of the reservation or are a "no show" for the reservation."

I think in general it sounds like you probably won't be charged the "no show" fee if at least some of your party has the meal. However, there is the possibility that they could charge you, so as soon as you know if the others in your party aren't going to go, you should call and modify the reservation. Better to be safe than to end up having to pay $10 for each person that was a "no show".

I was just going to say this. Usually with 1 they don't care. However, with 2 or more it may be more possible they would charge you as this prevents others from obtaining a reservation (for a party of 2 or more) and the restaurant, therefore, losing money. I would alter the ressie as soon as you know as I would be too nervous they would charge me the fee.
