I am bringing a group of musical theater students and their families to WDW in February. Several are seniors and are very interested in the Disney College Program. One of the questions we have is, once you have completed that first semester and apply and are accepted to the program, do most of you take your classes online or is there a local college that many of you attend when you are not working?

I have one of the boys who would like to visit colleges while there and I want to get as much information about which ones (if there are several), he should attend. As far as working, he would take whatever he could get, but he is a performer. He sings, dances and acts and I'm sure he wants to major in theater.

Thank you so much in advance for any advice for me you can provide on me helping this young man. If we need to make appointments and such, I want to take care of that for him and a few of the others who are also graduating soon, or recently graduated from high school who are also theater kids.

To answer your first question for your students, it depends on which college they attend in their hometown. I had several roommates who received an internship credit from their college, for me I wasn't that lucky my community college did not accept any kind of credit for doing the program. So definitely tell your students to check with their universities first about what credit they offer for the disney college program.

If they don't offer credit like my school, I had to take some online classes through my university while I was on the program, since I was spring advantage I had two online classes during the spring portion and one online class during the summer portion of my program. There is community college's in Florida but you'd be paying out of state tuition and that gets expensive but I heard of cp's doing that.

Disney also offers classes that some universities accept credit for, I didn't take any of these but had roommates who did and they throughly enjoyed them.

If your son is interested in character performer type role disney posts the audition locations and dates in the spring for fall auditions. There's also opportunities to audition for face characters once your on your program.

Hope I helped if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. And good luck to your son & students. It's a program they should definitely do it's one of the best things I've done in my life :)
