My DS and our boys will be staying at the VWL from 7/31-8/6. I rented points, so I'm unsure how everything works. I thought I remembered reading that mousekeeping is available on a daily basis for an additional charge? If this is accurate, how do I go about making this request?

Thanks!

You request it at check in and it will be added to your bill (when you rent points - technically, you don't owe anything at check in, but you will if you make room charges or have extra housekeeping, etc)

Have fun!

You'll get a free trash and towel service once during your stay. The charge for mousekeeping was kind of steep. (Don't remember it off hand..I wouldn't pay it myself.) What size room do you have? We always threw the towels in the washer on the way out the door in the morning, and made our own beds just like at home, didn't trash the place and never felt like we were missing anything not having a maid come in. In fact, we've had plenty of experiences where we were dead tired, came back to our room, and had to wait for a while at other places because they were cleaning it, so I never missed this at all. We've never stayed in a studio, though. Don't know how that would work out for us.

I think towel and trash service is $10/day but full mousekeeping on a daily basis is not cheap. I was just there and remember reading the rates in one of the handouts but can't remember the rates :p

For full cleanings, it's $25 per day for studios, $30 1 bedrooms, $40 2 bedrooms, $60 grand villas. You don't have to request it for everday. You will get a trash & towel on 8/3 automatically. They will change the towels, take out the trash, replentish supplies. If your main concern is towels in a studio, I would go for the $10 trash & towel.

You can keep your mouse at the wdw kennels. There is an extra expense for the kennels. I would guess the cost for a mouse would be the same as for a dog or cat. VWL is partiuclarly convenient to two kennels, one at the ttc (there is parking right there), and one at ft. wiliderness. Because they usually service dogs and cats, you should bring your own container to keep your mouse in. Also, they won't take your mouse out of the container, so you should plan to drop by once or twice each day to see how the mouse is doing. No animals, besides service animals, are allowed to stay at the dvc resorts. You should be able to just show up at the kennel with the mouse and a proper container. I'd be sure to check out the water bottle, feed, etc. I understand that they house a lot of unusual animals at the kennels, and I'm sure keeping a mouse there will not seem like a strange request.

We actually prefer not having housekeeping come in at inconvenient times. I might suggest that in addtion to the trash and towel service you get on day four that you might like to purchase additional towel packs at $6 per pack.

You don't say what size unit you are staying in, but if it is a 1,2,or 3 bedroom villa, you will have a washer and dryer in your unit to wash and dry towels should you need fresh ones each day. The studios do not have the washer and dryer, but you will have access to free laundry.
