I am interested in renting points from a DVC member. I am new to this and just want to make sure I understand it all before following through with it. I'm still a little confused on if I rent DVC points from a member how/where do I purchase the park tickets and can I get the dining package still?

We have been going to Disney and just getting our packages through them and we love the dining package. So, I was wondering if that would still be an option if we rent points?

I am just trying to compare pricing and see what we would need to budget for our trip in Jan 09!!

Thanks in advance!!!

I am renting points for the Dec. and am also a member now as well. We were able to add the dining package to the plan. The member has to add that to the reservation, however, payment is not due until you check in. As far as park tickets go, you can buy when you get there or you can purchase on-line ahead of time. There are also several on-line options that are less expensive. I have never done it that way but I have read about others purchasing this way.

renters may have the owner book the DDP or ME for them. you wouldn't pay for the DDP until you arrive, but the owner does need to set it up.

you are on your own for tickets. you are not required to buy tickets to add the DDP. most folks on the DIS recommend buying through maple leaf tickets or undercover tourist.

if you're going in jan 09, you need to get started ASAP. DVC members started booking those dates in february. depending on when you are going in january, there may still be availability, but your choices of room types or resort may be limited.
