I just got the socal AP for Christmas. The last 2 weeks of December are blockout dates. Is it possible to still go and pay less than the normal ticket price? I seem to remember reading that at one time.

Yes, you can. I believe they're $30, but not too sure on that. You'll have to pay for your parking that day because it's not covered on a blockout day.
