I am sure this question has probably been asked before, but I am just learning about the GAD program. We are thinking about doing a day for GAD. I am just a bit confused about redeeming the voucher toward a multi day ticket. I amreading this from the website, but it says you can use to upgrade but the last part says you can't. Can someone please explain this to me?

May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket?

Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value within the applicable upgrade window. However, you are responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by you. No changes or refunds will be given. The value of the free ticket may not be used to combine or upgrade with a separate single or multi-day ticket.

They are referring to the fact that you cannot combine the value of the free ticket with another ticket, and come out with an all new ticket. For example, you cannot take an existing 5-day base ticket, and then upgrade that with the value of the free ticket and end up with a 10-day park hopper.

You can only take the free ticket and upgrade that by paying cash (or equivalent).

By definition an upgrade is taking one ticket and adding cash (or similar) and ending up with one ticket with more entitlements. You cannot combine two tickets to get one ticket with more features.*

So you can take the GAC voucher, exchange it for a one-day, one-park, ticket, and then upgrade that ticket to any MYW ticket or annual pass which you would normally be eligible to purchase. You would take the cost of the ticket you are upgrading to, subtract the value of the GAD ticket, and add the 6.5% sales tax on that difference.

* The only exception to this rule is at the water parks where you can combine a one day water park ticket with a base or hopping MYW ticket and a payment to end up with a MYW ticket with the WPF&M option. Your payment will be the difference in price between the one day water park ticket and the cost of the WPF&M option plus tax on the difference.

So... if we are purchasing a 7 day park hopper with water parks, fun and more, we will just deduct the value of the 1 day ticket from the voucher? Is that correct? Does anyone know what that amount is?
