If we want a 2 bedroom villa at Wilderness Lodge Villas is waiting for to rent points 7 month out instead of 11 months a bad idea.
I worry that all the Wilderness Villas will be booked for our timeframe if we wait too long. We want early May.
Any insight to how hard or fast the rentals go at WLV would be helpful as well as any other tips on renting at WLV.

Hi Otterbuff

I have had great luck with the 7 month window at VWL. The only time I wouldn't feel very confident about it is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think you'll be allright in early May and if you need to you can always get on the waitlist. That has worked well for me too. But you have to be patient - not a trait I really possess.

:p I made 2 reservations at VWL this year for May and I made them at 2 months out. I won't say that will always be possible, especially as membership grows, but if you book right at 7 months for your time frame I don't think it will be a problem.

If you want a dedicated 2 bedroom, one with two queens in the second bedroom, you probably should rent 11 months out. If you really don't care and would be fine with a lock off 2 bedroom (a one bedroom and studio connected together) then you most likely won't incur any problems.

Why wait until 7 months? If your sure you want to go why not get in before the 7 month window opens to be sure you can get what you want? On the other hand, early May should be okay but you never know.

Thank you for the feedback ! I am a total in-advance planner so waiting always makes me nervous. I think I will hold out and hope someone is renting points now for WLV.
Thanks for the info on the 2 bedroom differences as well, I did not think about the studio with the 1 bedroom. I definately want the 2 bedroom queen beds.
Looking forard to our stay at the WLV!!

:earsgirl: Thanks,
Nicole

I have been successful in getting studios twice (once in Oct, once in May) and a one bdrm for this Oct at VWL at the 7 month window. I didn't have to waitlist. I call exactly at the 7 month from check out time date.

Crossing your fingers and pixie dust don't hurt either!!
