Another question on this topic...... what if they now offer a promotional fare that is lower than the one I booked for the day I am departing and returning but...the flights are booked and unavailable. I hope this makes sense...can I get a credit for the lower fair??

I already booked the flights but now that day the fare is cheaper but the flights have no availablity. Does this make sense???

Thanks!

In order to get a lower fare the fare actually has to be available for the flight you want to take. There really isn't any reason for SW to offer a promotional fare on a flight that's already sold out, or is expected to sell out, without any further discounting. SW is doing a better job, from their perspective, of reducing the amount of discounted seats on peak demand flights. No, you can't get credit because there isn't a lower fare available.

You may have to decide what's more important, the low fare or a great flight time. The first N/S Sat morning is much less likely to be discounted than a flight the middle of the day in the middle of the week.
