Question on points for 2012 trip

We are checking into Bay Lake Towers Jan. 1st 2012. Will I be able to borrow 2013 points for our January 1st-8th, 2012 trip if my use year is in August? We are already banking our 2011 points into 2012.

Any perspective on this is greatly appreciated!

You are still in your 2010 use year at this time until July 31 2011.

Let's see - your 2011 use year runs from:
Aug 1 2011 - July 31 2012
These are the points you would use for your January 2012 trip. They do not need to be banked or anything, they are in that use year of your trip.
(If you had 2010 points, they could be banked into 2011 and used for this trip.)

Your 2012 use year runs from:
August 1 2012 - July 31 2010
These points could be borrowed into your 2011 use year for your January 2012 trip.

Your 2013 use year points cannot be borrowed for your January 2012 trip that I can figure. Those points are for trips from August 1 2013 to July 31 2014, and could only be borrowed into your 2012 year (moving them up 1 year).

So the answer to your question is no, but I'm wondering if you are confusing when the use years start and when points can be used. Your upcoming trip could use banked 2010 points, current 2011 points, and borrowed 2012 points.

Just confirming that vicki_c is correct.

If you have an August use year and want to stay in January, 2012, you may not borrow 2013 use year points to pay for it. January 2012 is in your 2011 use year if you have an August use year.

You can use points that are banked from 2010, 2011 points and points that are borrowed from your 2012 use year.
