Does anyone know that with the photopass CD if the photos that you are allowed to upload from you camera will also be on the CD along with the photographer photos or do you have to buy the pictures that you upload strictly from their website. I paid for the photopass CD and just wondering before i upload anymore of my own photos. In a nutshell will these be includded with my photo CD along with the photograph photos. It seems awfully expensive for the 5 x 7 online that is why i am asking. Im still new to this photopass thing so i really dont understand it.

No, your own personal photos will not be on the PhotoCD.

Disney has a separate product you can buy for your personal photos, called a Personal Archive CD, which costs $19.95. The Personal Archive CD will contain all of your uploaded personal photos, plus any copies you make with borders or graphics.

Does this mean if you buy the personal archive cd you can edit your own photos using their borders, etc? I'm trying to decide if I want to do this or not...any thoughts?

thanks very much for your reply. I had gotten my camera photos developed already but had around 20 or more that i would have liked to enlarge to put up on our family photo wall. I guess i have to see whether paying this $20 would be worth it or not to have the borders or just enlarge them regularly without having to pay for the CD.

You can't edit AFTER you get the Personal Archive CD.

The PACD works very similar to the PhotoPass PhotoCD; you add borders and graphics to the pics on the PhotoPass web site first, and when the CD comes it contains all of the pics in your account. The PhotoCD contains all of the PhotoPass pics and the copies you make with borders and graphics, and the PACD contains all of your uploaded pics and the copies you make with borders and graphics.

The ONLY reason to buy the PACD is the ability to add PhotoPass' borders to your own photos. When you buy the PACD, you're buying your own pics from PhotoPass.

Personally, I don't see anything all that special about the borders offered on the PhotoPass web site. Sure, they're nice, but you can do better stuff with Photoshop or any one of several other photo editing packages on the market. The big appeal of the PhotoPass web site for editing pics is that it's so simple anyone can do it with no extra knowledge; just click a border and it's done.

The border you can use on your own uploaded photos are not the same as the photopass borders. Fewer choices and nothing special, as Will said.

I only got the photopass cd, the one with the photos from the pass and during our trips we tried to get many pictures possible taken by the photographers. Now for my own personal pictures the borders aren't the same therefore i don't even bother, you can do way better with photoshop, burn you own cd's and have you pictures print at wal mart or sam's for way less. Same thing with the photopass pics, if you are getting the dc with all your pics why paying to have them print there? You can have them print else where for less.

thanks i am realizing that now. They really dont give a good selection of borders. I went on this morning and it seems they added a bunch of Halloween borders which is nice and all but why couldnt they add some x-mas ones since i am thinking of making cards out of them. I guess i will take your advice and not upload and try to do my own borders. thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, they add the halloween ones because MNSSHP started already. They will add the Christmas ones by the end of Nov, i like those borders, we went last year for christmas and I order my cd. But if you have photoshop or photoshop elements you can make them yourself and print them at wal mart or target, for way less, you can even have your cards made there as well.

Thanks! Can you tell me how to get photoshop. I had went online but i dont know if it was the right website. Would i have to pay a monthly fee or do i have to buy a CD package somewhere. I am interested in doing a x-mas card that i could put 3 or 4 photos on since i cant settle on just one photo. I did pay someone on e-bay years ago to do a card like that for me but would rather not have to pay someone if i could do it myself.

Mmmm I think you might can download a free 30 day trial or something like that. You have to purcharse the software cd, either photoshop or photoshop elements.

Sure! Or search for 'free trial photoshop". The elements is around $70.00 - $80.00 and photoshop is a more expensive depending on the version.
