Hey everyone, This is my first time I and my family will be going to Disney. I am super excited and happy! (46 days to go!) I promise theres a question here...
I made Fastpass reservations for the festival of fantasies parade and the electrical parade, I have no idea where we will be heading to the Fastpass viewing area. My question is are there multiple viewing areas? On ours it says town square viewing area. Where exactly is the viewing area where a cast member will scan our magicbands?

I have a fast pass for electrical parade as well and was wondering same thing so thanks. Is it worth the fast pass? Are viewing areas that much better?

We just did the town square viewing area (fast pass) for the parade on a trip last week and do note that you are in full sun (there is no shade). I was disappointed because of the location and the music. You hear the intro three different times and the music clashed in this particular location. I like it better when it was in front of the castle at the hub.

We also saw the parade in Liberty Square area and found some shade and liked that better. If you are looking use a fast pass, I would pass on this particular viewing area. You are suppose to be there 1/2 hour ahead of time, but you can get the same or better on the parade route with out the fast pass.

Where's the best place within the FP area to sit if you want to follow the end of the parade up Main St to a good viewing spot for Wishes? On the side closest to the start of the parade (and then follow it around the loop)? Or closest to where it starts going straight up Main St?

If you are in the area nearest the Fire Station/City Hall, you CAN be among the earliest to join in the post-parade march.
I don't know if I'd actually watch the entire parade from that side, however.

That "area" is actually NOT part of the FP+ viewing area. The area that actually comprises FP+ viewing is about 1/2 of what is on the map. The area across from City Hall is disability viewing and the area to the "northwest" (toward Barber Shop / Emporium is general viewing). The area from Emporium / Main St. corner then up to the flagpole then toward Package pickup is an exit walkway for crossings during night parade and a "packing in" area during day parade.

FP+ viewing is across from the Train Station then toward and across from TST continuing over to the Emporium Corner / Main St. intersection. Viewing does not encompass the entire inner section of the Town Sq. area. The entrance for FP+ viewing is directly across from Town Sq. Theater entry. The shape of the viewing area is a bit difficult to describe in words.

@11290: Would people at the "teardrop" be able to merge in at the end of the parade rope as it goes by? Or, would they have to merge in behind the guests already following the rope?

See newer map, post #2.

I guess I'll ask a second question then. How is the view of Wishes from the "teardrop," i.e. closest to Main St? Can you see Celebrate the Magic at all, or is it too far away?

Weighing the pros and cons of moving from the MSEP FP+ area in order to get a better Wishes view...

1. Not great. They leave the lights on during the fireworks at that end of Main Street.
2. Too far. (And, again, the lights are left on.)

Boo. The lights are off during the parade though, right?
I guess I will be explaining to my family why we need to get up and follow the parade. My mom thinks I'm a crazy planner as it is, lol. Thank you for the info!

I just read that both the festival of fantasy parade and electrical parade are moved to the flag pole area. I can't say I'm not disappointed:( I was hoping for some fantastic shots of the floats going by the castle. Hope they move it back, I am excited for the new wishes firework area!

Is it true they have now stopped allowing all Fast Pass reservations for Parades and Fireworks?

Correct although illuminations in epcot might still have them.

now it's pay extra for expensive dining package or desert party
