We too have a "collection" of Magic Bands including some limited edition ones we bought last summer (Frozen). We just received our bands for our next trip and my DS would like to use his Olaf band from last summer for this trip. If I go into MDE and deactivate all but the bands we just received and my DS Olaf bands, we should be ok?

We have purchased APs for the upcoming trip and I'm not sure when they associate the pass with the MB - if they see we each only have one MB, the AP would be associated with that MB?

Just want to make sure we don't have major issues with the MBs this time - Thanks!

In the manage Magic Bands and Cards section of MDE, it says "All your MagicBands and cards can be used interchangeably as long as they're active."

You can deactivate Magic Bands if you want, but it's not necessary. Whatever one(s) you bring with you should all work the same.

Sounds like the main thing you need to ensure is that your new APs are associated with your Magic Bands, which you should be able to do via MDE.

Nothing is stored directly on the MagicBands except for a unique band id number. Everything (room reservations, admission, FP+ selections, etc.) is linked to your MDE account and the MagicBand is just a key used to read the data stored on your profile.

We've used old MB's from previous trips. They've often worked for room entry when the new ones haven't! Thankfully we haven't had any issues with park entry with any band we've ever had but it sometimes takes a visit to the front desk to get bands to unlock the room doors but that's even been the ones sent out for that specific room. I did start deactivating bands that we wouldn't be using though.

When I had issues with my bands the front desk advised me to deactivate some of the bands. She said their system is too old and just can't handle it. I had 8 and I think she said maybe 6 should be the max. Also, she said they last for two years. On my upcoming trip I'll bring 2 or 3, depending on what colors will go with what I plan to wear :rainbow:
