Has anyone every had something delivered to their resort before? How did it work out for you?

I am staying at POR and would like a custom gift basket delivered to our resort.
The question I have is, is the gift delivered on the day you schedule it or the day after?
I read somewhere that if you schedule on your arrival day then it is delivered on the NEXT day.
Not sure if that rule is only for in room celebrations or that goes for gift baskets too.

Tell me your experience. I am selecting a gift for a birthday so I want to make sure the date delivered is correct.

:thanks:

The way I read it on the website is the delivery after arrival day is for celebrations. But I am not 100%. The way i took it is anything other than the celebrations could be delivered the day of arrival. But i am not sure. I have read some posts here that indicate the day after.
I also want to do this for my niece..but I would like to have it delivered the day of arrival. I'm not doing the celebration..but would like to get a basket delivered for her.

Yeah, see, the wording is confusing on the website so I just wanted to confirm. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Disney Florist should deliver to the resort on the day you schedule it, but the CMs at the resort are the ones who are responsible for delivering to the room (this is what I was told by a Disney Florist agent). You might have to be checked in before anyone will deliver to the room as I don't think they put anything in a room until it's officially occupied, but maybe if you call Disney Florist they might be able to answer for sure. With that said, I ordered something for my niece this past July and was able to have it delivered the day I ordered it, which was their arrival day (they arrived around 1:30 pm and the gift was in the room that night). I would choose your arrival day as the delivery day and then maybe mention to the CM at check in that you ordered something to have delivered and ask if it will be delivered to the room that day. Good luck :).

I ordered a gift for my niece and I called instead of ordering online as I had questions about delivery and personalizing items. The agent I talked to was very friendly and helpful. I called around 9 am on a Saturday morning and while she told me gifts with personalized items are usually delivered 48 hours after ordering, she did some checking and was able to get the order filled (with 2 personalized items) and have it delivered to the resort by 8 pm that evening (the day they arrived). My bother and his family got back to their room around midnight that first night and the gift was on one of the beds :goodvibes.

my items were at the resort when I checked in but they will not put them in the room until after you physically arrive because there's a chance you might change rooms. so I called to let them know we were going out for a while and asked them to deliver it while we were out. It was a surprise for my mom.

My items were put in our room later on our arrival day. The basket was beautiful.

DS and DIL had a Mother's Day gift delivered to our room, we arrived on Mother's Day. I didn't know about it and it wasn't there when we checked in but after we got back from dinner there was a balloon and a box on the table. Had a card, a wand (cause I'm a princess) and a sworski crystal bracelet with charms (which I have worn every day since). Made me cry.

When DS graduated from Corpsman/RT school they flew in and were arriving after me. I hightailed it to the concierge desk, and told them I wanted a Mickey in a sailors suit but couldn't find one, they called around (we were at Yacht Club) and found one in the gift shop with his little boat captain suit on, I ran over there and bought it, they then ordered a wine basket from somewhere that had a bottle of wine, some chocolate and two wine glasses, combined it with Mickey and it was in the room when they arrived. We weren't staying the same room and this was about 3 years ago so it might have been before they changed the rules about delivering stuff if you hadn't checked in. Or it might have been since they were flying in and were confirmed on ME.

I am looking to have a special delivery in the room on Mother's Day and I was wondering who you would put as a contact for the order. How do they know what room to deliver to?

The name of the Lead Person on the reservation and the Reservation number.

I don't see anywhere where they ask for that. Is that one of the last steps when checking out online? I think I may just call so I can get it done right. Lol

I've always called and that's what they have asked for.
