Question on car rental

I might have asked this question already but I still need to know. We are flying into Orlando 12/23 and out of Tampa 1/3/06. All the car rental rates are out of control. But all the discount codes and rates show need to pickup by 12/15/05. My question is this, do they come out with new codes as we get closer that will cover past the date I arrive? Am i just SOL due to the time of year we are going. I just find it hard to believe no discounts will be offered at that time. Any help would be awesome!!! You guys are the best.

Two years ago there were NO discounts for that period. You have two things going against you. One is that this is the BUSIEST time of the year so the rental car companies sell out without needing to discount and the other is that you are doing a drop off at a different location. Lots of coupons and discounts don't apply then.

Ouch. It really stinks for my family because my parents need one for those exact dates and my brother needs one as well. So they both have very high quotes. I found an enterprise not located at the airport in orlando with a price around $214 for a week. I have the flexablity to change my dates and not need one for the full 11 days or need one as soon as we get there. Does anyone know of any discounts for enterprise that would work during that time? Also anyones past experience with them would be great.
