So since my last cruise a few years ago, I bought one of those new 360°/full face snorkeling mask... did anyone had an issue using that at CC? I was thinking the “snorkel” on top of the mask wasn’t tall enough in regards of thinking that’s how they track people and then I remember they had those yellow vests... so does anybody have experience using these masks at CC?

This is the type of mask I mean...

Thanks for any help!!

You may use whatever you like, as long as you are wearing the safety vest.

We used masks like this at CC. They are great because they automatically seal up when you submerge and drain when you surface. Same thing if you get water inside your mask, it drains automatically.

The only issue is the flippers. Some people here report being able to rent just flippers. That was not my experience. When I was there with my sons we wanted to rent flippers to go with their masks, but we were told it was one price for everything (mask, snorkel and flippers) and you couldn't rent just flippers. So we (grudgingly) rented the whole thing and left their mask under a bush on the beach until we were done with the flippers.

Yellow vests are free (and required) for all, no matter whose mask you use.

Cool thank you guys! I have my own snorkel gear, i just “updated” the mask because it was starting to be weird with the plastic and not sealing... i just didn’t want to rent another set just to get a mask just in case they didn’t want me using my new mask you guys been super helpful!

OT a little. Where do you find these snorkels?
I'm a good swimmer, but not snorkeling. I know....it's all in my head. I can wear the mask, swim under water; but, the snorkel part just freaks me out.

I just got off the Magic on the 31st, used my full face mask. Now it was very rough waters, and I did end up with quite the headache. There was LOTS to see.

I bought mine off amazon, I kind of went through the reviews and picked one out... I did try one on at dicks or academy sports store (I can’t remember) to see if I like it... though I couldn’t base the size off that one because it seemed every one on amazon had a weird sizing....

We took those full face masks to CC and they were awesome!! To be in the snorkel area (past a rope area) you have to be wearing their inflatable life vests, otherwise they don't care what gear you have. We did not take fins, and didn't miss them. My kids in the past say they rub, and prefer no fins. Saved us room in the suitcases too.
