Question on borrowed points from 2021

I had a June trip booked which the point were borrowed from 2021. I have a Feb use year. I noticed today that they cancelled my reservation put the points in 2020,

I admit I am not on top of reading all the information. Will I be able to bank these point to 2021 or do I now have to use them in 2020?

They are still working on cleaning up the points that were returned from reservations cancelled by DVC during the closure period).

Any points you borrowed from 2021 (to make the June reservation DVC cancelled) should automatically be put back by DVC into your 2021 use year. Check your account on June 6. If the points were not returned to your 2021 use year, call MS.

If you used any 2020 use year points for the cancelled reservation, those points were returned to use as current use year points and since you have a February use year, you would have until September 30, 2020 to bank them.

If you used any points for the cancelled June reservation that were banked from your 2018 use year, those points will be extended to 11/30/2020. However, they will NOT show up in your account and you will have to call MS to use them. These points may be reallocated into an existing reservation (if you have one) that will take place before 11/30/2020. Again, call June 6 or later regarding those points.

They say borrowed will go back automatically in 15 days or so.. most report closer to 4 to 6.

Do call however if yours don’t - I had three reservations and 132 points that needed to go back and only 1 reservation for 20 points went back on its own. She filled out a form for them to manually be put back in the next 7-10 business days.

We are scheduled to go down once parks reopen but still may cancel. We borrowed those points from next June's UY. If we cancel, do you think they will put those back to 2021 or am I gonna be SOL and have to use them before May 31st, 2021. I'm a teacher so it's basically summer or bust.

As of today, yes. When that policy will end, no one knows. I think the longer it goes, the better chance you have that they stop and you will be stuck.

I recall being told yesterday that ALL points borrowed from 2021, regardless of being for a reservation in the closure window or not, are being returned.

I accidentally borrowed some for 8/30/20 for VGC, and they are still sitting in 2020 UY and I’m expecting them to move back to 2021 in the next two weeks (August UY)
