Question on ADR and two different arrival dates

We will be in Disney for 8 days in November, during those 8 days my parents will be there for the first 4 and my BIL family for the last 4. The question is how our ADR's handled for my BIL. We would like our ADR's together and I understand that we would be eligible 4 days before them to get our ADR's.

We are using DU again and in the past they always booked ADR's for us as they will again. Do we need to be linked as one reservation? Or does my family have to wait the 4 days allow us to all book together?

Thanks for any help. We have never done this with people arriving at different times.

Don't know about going thru DU (or any agent) but you can book reservations for your whole party of 8 at your 180 day mark by calling dining. You will not have to wait for the other parties 180 day mark to arrive, just make all the ADR's in your name.

Thanks for the information. Do I need to provide a conf # to prove that my trip is 180 days out? I understand that on the 180 day mark, day 1 of my trip will be fine but when I am booking for the rest of the week I don't need to book day by day do I?

Dumb question I know, but I usually use the TA or book trips that are quick and way under the 180 day mark.

If you do it yourself, you will provide your confirmation number to link your dining ressies and it will allow you to make 180 + 10 if staying on site. Your DU agent can do this as well, just let them know how many people for each dining ressie. Their room does not need to be linked to yours--you can have the dining ressies linked to your room.

I have done the same for friends that are arriving a week after we do. I made all our ADRs on my 180 day mark, for 4 on the days before they arrive and for 8 when they will be with us.
