question Ohio DVC Members. Sharing the Magic

Question for all Ohio Dvc members. Have you ever referred someone and were you eligable for the Sharing the magic rewards before Jan 2004?

I called DVC about my referal who joined in Oct. I had not received any kind of letter to pick my reward. I called today and spoke to an advisor with the Sharing the Magic program and was told that Ohio was not a registered state for rewards till Jan of this year. Does that seem right?

I remember when the program was announced last year and I seem to remember Ohio being one of those state. If anyone has ever received any kind of reward before this year please let me know.

Ohio has been eligible for referrals again since Jan 2003.

Just confirming Nick's reply that Ohio is eligible. A few months back we received a letter from our Guide thanking us for the referral of some old friends.

Funny thing was we hadn't even seen them or spoken about DVC in close to a year. But when they called for info, they must have been thoughtful enough to mention our names when asked.

Never heard if they purchased or not. Hmmm...guess I need to make a phone call before the price increases.

Thank You Nick and tjkraz. I knew I could count on you two to respond. I will have to call back tomorrow and see if I can speak to someone else in MS. I received a message on my answering machine telling me Ohio was not a registered state until Jan 04'.
I didn't think that sounded right.

Yes -- I can second or third the fact that Ohio has been in on the rewards since January, 03.

I can also vouch for the fact that if contact of DVC by the prospective owner occurred before that date (1/03), you are not eligible for the rewards. I learned this when we asked about friends who we knew had used our name and purchased in 2003 and was told their contact had been in 2002 -- so no rewards for us on that one. Then while with relatives while they were making their purchase in June, 2003 and expecting the rewards, we learned the relatives first contact was also before January, 03.

Let's put it this way -- you have not seen my DSIL in action. DVC almost lost the sale completely. Let's make this short and just say the sale was made that day and we got the rewards that day also. I won't go into the gory details. DVC really has their rules down pat when they get you into the sales room.

But -- I still love DVC. I am not sure about Ohio -- especially when I think of the number (small, but not inconsequential) of our contacts who have purchased DVC before 1/03.
