I think the answer is no but I am going to ask anyway. Can a person use a military room discounts for two rooms but different resorts? My brother is staying at the Boardwalk and I want to stay at POR but same dates. Could he book that room for me and show his ID when I check in?

I would call and ask. I know at Shades of Green you can book up to three rooms per eligible member. Most resorts let you book multiple rooms, so if they are all Disney resorts, it can't hurt to ask.

Per Disney website no

Offer Restrictions

  • Advance reservations required.
  • Valid Military ID will be required upon check-in and military member (or spouse) must stay in the room.

Have you considered Shades of Green (SoG)? It is next Disney's Polynesian.

Per their FAQ (and I have booked a room for us and a room for sister-in-law)
Q: As a sponsor may I bring additional guests?
A: Yes, each eligible sponsor may book up to 3 rooms under their name (to include the sponsor room).

Shades of Green is a military resort on Disney Property. Their standard room sleeps five. They have a small number of suites as well. I know there are some old posts on disboards about the room size, but I do believe SoG is the largest square footage for room space in comparison to Disney equivalent room styles.

In 2014 when we booked two rooms so we include a relative's family, the rule was same resort. Supposed to check in together on same day but length of stay could differ.
In our situation a storm caused relative to fly in the night before. It was a major storm on east coast so they were understanding. The family was given the planned military rate as if we checked in with them the next day. I believe they were told the rate would not be valid if we did not check in as planned, the next morning. All was well. So they did make that concession, but we definitely all stayed at same resort planning to arrive on same day as required.

Nope sorry, like others have said you both need to be staying at the same resort. We use the military discount and have booked more than one room but everyone must check in together (usual their is something unexpected that occurs) and the military ID card holder must be staying in one of those rooms.

thank you for the replies! I thought that would be the case but doesnt hurt to ask right! I did end up getting a pin code for room only for my dates.. So I still saved a little bit...He can still get me the military tickets:)
